Review @WereGirlBook - Weregirl by C.D. Bell (Weregirl Trilogy #1)

Weregirl
Weregirl Trilogy #1
by C.D. Bell

Goodreads blurb:  Eager to escape her small hometown, high school junior Nessa Kurland is focused on winning a college scholarship for cross-country running. A chance encounter with a trapped wolf while out on a run leads to powerful and frightening changes, and one day, Nessa is transformed into a full werewolf. Now Nessa must navigate the challenges of high school while coming face to face with true human darkness, as she tries to make peace with her new wild nature.

About the Author:  When she's not biking the streets of Brooklyn, NY, you can find C. D. Bell writing in a decrepit RV clinging to the side of a hill in upstate New York, trying to teach herself to watercolor, or inventing her own recipes. She is a voracious reader of anything and everything fantasy, supernatural, or romance. And she swears that the monsters she often writes about are not real— at least she hopes not.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I will collect this series in paperback in the future.

I love the wolf on the cover!

This is the first book in the series, and it is classified as young adult though I would say more new adult with the violence.  This book is more than 300 pages long.  This is my first time reading this author’s work.

This book was interesting because it isn’t a typical shifter book.  Nessa was chosen.  This book has some of the usual trouble I find with a new series where while the world and details are built that I find it slow.  So the first half of the book, I equate to getting all the high school details and life of Nessa.  The second half of the book is packed with mystery, intrigue, and action.  Nessa is strong for a high school student thrown to the wolves.  There were some twists and turns that I thought I saw coming, and then I thought I was wrong.  I love when authors make it so you can’t guess what will happen next.  By the end of the book, I was hooked.  I can’t wait to read the next book!

I recommend to shifter fans who want a new kind of shifter world where Nessa is chosen!
