Review @RoxieNoir - Prey by Roxie Noir (Copper Mesa Eagles #2)

Prey
Copper Mesa Eagles #2
by Roxie Noir

Goodreads blurb:  Zach Monson is a man on a mission. Two years ago, he watched his brother shift into an eagle. Now late-blooming engineer Zach is driven to find the secret to shifting, and there’s nothing in this world that could derail his quest.

Except maybe Katrina, a curvy, gorgeous, whip-smart biomechanical engineer. One look at Katrina, and Zach knows he needs her. In his bed, and in his life.

Katrina knows it’s unprofessional to go out with a prospective employee, but she can’t seem to say no. Zach is tall, built, smart, and impossibly sexy. Men like that don’t come around every day. Just one date, just one kiss… what can it hurt?

After falling head over heels for Zach’s charms, Katrina soon discovers that her crazy boss has been searching for Zach formonths. Zach quickly realizes that he’s not the only one interested in his family’s secret… and that it might be putting Katrina in peril.

Ancient shifter secrets, unforgettable passion, and shadowed threats lie around every twist and turn in this tale. Will Zach and Katrina be strong enough to fight for their newfound love, or will they both become PREY?

Don't miss this thrilling standalone novella, complete with a shifter who knows what he wants, a feisty heroine who's not afraid to stand up for herself, a heat level of ten, and a happily ever after ending!

About the Author:  By day, Roxie is a nice librarian who reads a lot of books and knows the Dewey Decimal system a little too well, but when she gets home at night she kicks off her shoes and sits down to write sexy-but-smart stories about whatever's on her mind at the moment.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is beautiful!  I love birds of prey!  I even volunteered at a rehab center before in Colorado.

This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.  I recommend reading the series in order because it does make references to things that happened in the first book.

Zach seems likes he is put together, but he has a past that surprised me.  I like Katrina, and she definitely has things together in her life.  There is definitely a ton of action in this book, but I think it could have been longer.  The resolution was too quick and glossed over details that could have made this book even better.

I recommend this book to the bird shifter fans especially if you hold eagles near and dear to your hearts!
