Review @JessaSlade - Joker by Elsa Jade (Wolves of Angels Rest #2)

Joker
Wolves of Angels Rest #2
by Elsa Jade

Goodreads blurb:  Born and raised in a clandestine paramilitary cult dedicated to destroying all shapeshifting monsters, Leela Jones has to prove her worth by testing her deadly new revolvers on the terrible white wolfman. Too bad he caught her. Even worse, she’s not sure if she wants to get away.

Vicious werewolf hunters killed Bastian Villalobos’ father and left him to run wild, dreaming of a someday revenge. But when that someday comes, it’s in the soft, quiet shape of a lonely woman suffering the same pain as him. She knows him in a way no one else does, and together they could broker a ceasefire between their people. Except not everyone wants peace.

About the Author:  Pen name of Jessa Slade,  Introducing Elsa Jade(from Jessa’s website):  It rains a lot here in the Pacific Northwest where I live, and we have lots of jokes about various things “sprouting like mushrooms”, and apparently one of those things is pen names.

This year, I launched a new “me” for reasons. The primary reason being that it amused me, which as far as reasons go, seems as good as any. (If you are an aspiring writer, please do not follow that reasoning.)

So now that Elsa Jade has a few words behind her name, I thought it was time to share her with you

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

The cover is beautiful!  Bas looks way tamer than I imagined him lol

This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is part of larger collection called Mating Season.  I have read several books in a couple of the series.  I do have the first book in each of the series but haven’t read them all yet :)  I do recommend reading each series in order as the characters and interactions build in each story, and you do not want to miss out on the backstory and relationships :)

This is Bas and Leela’s story who are Hunter and Hunted, but which is which.  The story has plenty of action and intrigue to keep your attention while you are pulled into the world of Angels Rest.  Beautifully written and no problems seeing what is happening, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

If you are a werewolf shifter fan, then you will definitely find something you enjoy in this book as well as the collection as a whole :)

See my review of Hero (Book 1)!!!
