Freebie Review - Stone Embrace by Danielle Monsch @Danielle_Monsch (Entwined Realms #1.1)

Stone Embrace:
A Stone Guardian After-Scene
Entwined Realms #1.1
by Danielle Monsch

Goodreads blurb:  In the New Realms, love can be the most dangerous battle of all...

Terak has fought all enemies to claim Larissa. It doesn't matter his own Clan looks upon the union with misgivings. It doesn't matter her family see a monster when they see him.

It doesn't matter, because Larissa is his.

And any who would try to take her away? They'll see what a Gargoyle will do to protect his mate.

*****

NOTE: Stone Embrace is not a complete story. It would best be described as an extended 30 page epilogue to the novel Stone Guardian. You'll probably have the most enjoyment reading this story if you have read Stone Guardian and already know the characters and world of the Entwined Realms series.

About the Author:  Born to the pothole ridden streets of Pittsburgh, PA, Danielle started writing in a time long ago, a time when there were not enough vampire stories to read and she had to write her own to fill the void. Yes, such a time of darkness did indeed exist.

Danielle writes stories full of fantastical goodness and plenty of action, but always with lots of romance (and a bit of woo-hoo!) mixed in. Vampires and Werewolves and Demons and Angels, Sword & Sorcery, Fairy Tales, Updated Mythologies and the like - if it's out of the ordinary, it's fair game for her stories.

When not writing, Danielle reads comic books and watches cartoons (though she says she reads manga and watches anime, because saying it in a different language makes all the difference.) She listens to music, plays D&D, follows XKCD, watches movies with the Rifftrax on, and is mom to two amazing little girls and wife to her favorite guy in the world.

She is also the host of Romantic Geek Girl, a Podcast & Blog dedicated to those two great tastes that taste great together - Geekness and Romance.

***Free on most platforms, so get it now!!

First things first, this is like a deleted scene for the movie or extended ending.  I don’t recommend reading this until you’ve read book 1, Stone Guardian.

The cover is okay, but I wish it would have shown both of them together, but the traditional gargoyle in the background is a nice touch.

This scene since it really isn’t a book about her dad bringing reality into their relationship, and Terak like any Alpha male has to show his dominance and control to ease his own fears after the dreaded dinner with dad.  This is very steamy and should only be read by adults, and it is definitely making me think I could use my own gargoyle :)  This is less than 30 pages, so it is a quick read.

Danielle’s writing style is awesome, but this is just a tease.  I’m glad it was a freebie since it isn’t a book.  I like that she is toying with the idea to add this to book 1 because that is a great idea :)  I really can’t wait for book 2 :)

This is a great add-on to book 1, and I highly recommend anyone who has read Stone Guardian to read this as well especially since it is FREE.  I’m really looking forward to book 2 when it comes out :)

Review - Rabbit Creek Santa by Jacqueline Rhoades @JRhoadesAuthor (The Wolvers #4)

Rabbit Creek Santa
The Wolvers #4
by Jacqueline Rhoades

Goodreads Blurb:  It's Christmas!...
Things are going well in Rabbit Creek. Elizabeth has taken her duties as the Alpha's Mate to heart and as the story opens, that heart is breaking for the loneliness and isolation of one of her pack. It's Christmas Eve and no one should be lonely at Christmas.
Lindy doesn't feel like she has much to celebrate. After two years of widowhood, she can barely make ends meet without the aid of her pack and while her inner wolf is ready to move on, Lindy isn't sure she can let go of the past.
New to the pack, Travis had party plans for the Holidays, but he ends up playing Santa to a pretty little widow and her pup. She's not what he was looking for, but she's exactly what he wants and his inner wolf agrees. Now all he has to do is convince Lindy that Christmas gifts aren't always the ones you find under the tree.

About the Author:  Jacqueline, known as Jackie to her friends, lives in rural southern Ohio with one lovable husband, one spoiled dog and one disinterested cat. She believes coffee is a food group and therefore necessary to survival. She always has a pot brewing. When not writing, she can usually be found with her nose in someone else's book or working in her garden. She also spends a great deal of time chasing deer and rabbits who apparently also like gardening.  Jackie loves hearing from her readers and is always willing to chat.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!!

The cover is a very important scene from the book; however, it doesn’t do much as far as attracting you to the book.  The wolves are pretty, but just nothing attention grabbing for me.

Okay I bought this about 10 days ago, and this is the first in the series that is a novella.  Goodreads claims it is considered book 3.5, but the next book is book 5.  I have officially dubbed this book 4 in the series :)  I loved this story just as much as the rest of the series.  This one doesn’t have much action though for those who find this important (which I usually do), but it does have all sorts of drama and humorous situations especially involved ‘Piyo’ and ‘sit’.  You will have to read it to see what those words mean :)  There is plenty of content to keep your interest, and I didn’t want to put it down.

Okay Lindy is….well a hot mess.  She has been shut off from the world for a long time since her mate died.  Her cub is adorable.  Lindy is so much stronger than me because I’m not sure I could have handled things as well as she did.  Travis is a bachelor who wants to party until the Mate asks him a favor.  They are all part of Marshall’s pack.  This is a sweet Christmas tale, and I loved every second of reading it with several completely out loud laughs where my son was asking what was so funny as well as my mom.  Okay I did also cry for Lindy too both in sympathy and in joy.

Jackie’s series has fast become one of my favorites :)  I can’t wait to read what she cooked up in book 5.  Her adventures in this series are always unique and not just the same story with new names.  Her writing is descriptive and makes it so easy to fall completely in love with her packs and characters.

I highly recommend this Christmas tale to my shifty…err I mean shifter friends read this series :)  You will enjoy it immensely.  Okay I’m off to bed but will be starting book 5 tomorrow :)

Review - The Alpha’s Daughter by Jacqueline Rhoades @JRhoadesAuthor (The Wolvers #3)

The Alpha’s Daughter
The Wolvers #3
by Jacqueline Rhoades

Goodreads Blurb:  There is a balm in Gilead, to heal the wounded soul…

Jazz Phillips is on the run, fleeing from a fate most females in her pack accept as their lot in life; an arranged mating, something Jazz thought wasn't in her future as the Alpha's daughter and only child. She doesn't want to be the next Alpha's Mate. She doesn't want to be anyone's mate. She likes her life just the way it is until she finds herself stranded in the mountain town of Gilead, home to a small and close knit pack of wolvers. Once there, she begins to question her life as it was and begins to wonder about what it could be, especially in the arms of the wolver the people call Doc.

Doc Goodman claims to have settled in Gilead because he saw a need for his services, but in fact, he's a runaway, too. He's rejected his wolver heritage and the warring politics that stripped him of everything he loved most. He's biding his time, waiting to die, until he meets the blue haired, foul mouthed beauty who shows him there are still things worth living for and the most important of them are worth fighting for.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!!

The cover definitely says Jazz :) and the wolf gets my attention :)

I’m loving this series even more with each book.  I bought this last year and finally have read it.  This story is about the Doctor of the Goodman brothers and Jazz :)  Jazz is fierce, and she starts the book as an island who has to fight for everything.  She has no idea that some Wolver packs operate different than her father’s pack.  It is an awesome journey learning about Jazz and seeing her grow and change.  She is such a fierce alpha female, but she is also awesome solving problems.  Then there is Doc who cares, but doesn’t want to get too involved.  He is so growly that he is always compared to a bear by Jazz which I find very amusing.  I definitely laughed, fumed, and cried with the characters.  There are so many awesome characters in this series and so many possibilities for more books :)

Jackie does a great job with her details and descriptions to get you sucked into the lives of the characters.  Her writing style is easy to read and relate.  She is really nice too :)  I’m going to have to look into her Guardians of the Race series in the future :)

I highly recommend this series to my wolf lovin’ shifter book fiends out there.  I have already bought the next 2 books in this series which I’m off to read the next one now.  :)

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it!!!
** Received the ebook as a gift for an honest review

The cover is beautiful especially the eyes which I’m partial to :)

I enjoyed this story, and it is full of mystery and action.  Starling is very unsure of herself, but she is growing in her confidence throughout the book.  Jasper and her adventure is comical at times, infuriating, and sad.  At the end, it had me on an emotional rollercoaster where crying was involved.  Definitely had me wondering where it was going a few times which is always nice when there are surprises :)

Danica’s writing is easy to read and to connect with the story and its characters.  I really like this series and can’t wait to see where it goes from here and what new nymphs we will meet and if the curse will ever be broken :)

I recommend this series to shifter lovers who want something new and different from the usual.

Review - The Alpha’s Choice by Jacqueline Rhoades @JRhoadesAuthor (The Wolvers #2)

The Alpha’s Choice
The Wolvers #2
by Jacqueline Rhoades

Goodreads Blurb:  Katarina Bennett stopped believing in fairytales a long time ago. Prince Charming doesn't exist. Careful planning is what makes dreams come true and that's what she's spent her adult life doing. Now those plans have fallen apart. She's lost everything; her fiancé, her job and her home.
Determined to make a new start, Kat takes a job as a governess and teacher for five orphaned children and finds herself in an old Gothic mansion in the middle of nowhere with people who aren't what they seem.
Charles Goodman is the Alpha of his wolver pack, the modern descendants of an ancient line of man/beasts who've hidden among the human race for centuries. Charles has his hands full with taking his pack in a new direction and dealing with dissention in the ranks and doubts about his own abilities to lead, but when he meets his feisty new employee, he begins to believe in a future he didn't think possible.
Together, Charles and Kat, Alpha and Mate, set out to prove all things are possible and fairytales do come true.

The cover is awesome, and I love the green eyes!  As always there is something about eyes that speak to me and attract me to a book :)

I bought this a while ago and recently added the two I was missing from the series.  I loved this book as much as book 1.  I couldn’t put it down.  I love when a book pulls you in, and you can see everything and imagine being there.  Jackie is so descriptive in her writing, and it is easy to connect with all the characters.

Kat is an awesome woman.  She doesn’t take crap and believes in herself and those around her.  This is as always important in a heroine for me.  Charles is an unsure alpha, and he is a conceited jerk in the beginning.  He grows and becomes a confident and better man becoming the Alpha everyone needs him to be.  I love both of these characters, the cubs, and the most of the pack :)  There is plenty of action and drama to keep you interested.  I can’t wait to read more about this pack :)

I’m never good at these reviews, but I know what I love reading.  And this is it!!!  I highly recommend this series to my werewolf lovin’ shifter friends :)  Onto book 3 for me :)
