Review @HarperFire - Bloodmagic by Helen Harper (Blood Destiny #2)

Bloodmagic
Blood Destiny #2
by Helen Harper

Goodreads blurb:  After escaping the claws of Corrigan, the Lord Alpha of the Brethren, Mack is trying to lead a quiet lonely life in Inverness in rural Scotland, away from anyone who might happen to be a shapeshifter. However, when she lands a job at an old bookstore owned by a mysterious elderly woman who not only has a familiar passion for herbal lore but also seems to know more than she should, Mack ends up caught in a maelstrom between the Ministry of Mages, the Fae and the Brethren.

Now she has to decide between staying hidden and facing the music, as well as confronting her real feelings for the green eyed power of Corrigan himself.

About the Author:  After teaching English literature in the UK, Japan and Malaysia, Helen Harper left behind the world of education following the worldwide success of her Blood Destiny series of books. She is a professional member of the Alliance of Independent Authors and writes full time although she still fits in creative writing workshops with schools along with volunteering to teach reading to a group of young Myanmar refugees. That’s not to mention the procession of stray cats which seem to find their way to her door!

Helen has always been a book lover, devouring science fiction and fantasy tales when she was a child growing up in Scotland.

From almost the moment I learnt to read, I fell in love with the escapism provided by those genres. No matter how bad life gets, you can always find a route out, even if only temporarily, in the pages of a good book.
— Helen Harper

The growth of urban fantasy fascinated her - the mix of reality and fantasy along with strong heroic female characters appealed from the very beginning, and inspired her to write her own. No-one is more astonished or thrilled than her that her characters have found an audience and that her books have achieved average reviews of 4 to 5 stars on Amazon and GoodReads.

Helen currently lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with far too many cats – not to mention the dragons, fairies, demons, wizards and vampires that seem to keep appearing from nowhere!

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

***I own the audiobook

The cover is beautiful and magical!  Love it!!

I listened to this ebook while mowing quite a while ago, but life interfered for a while before I could get my review written.  This is the 2nd book in the series.  This is a series for adults.

Initially, I was confused about what was going on.  I think this is because I have not read book 1 yet.  I do own the book though.  I plan on reading book 1 and maybe listening to book 2 again afterward because you never know what I might have missed in my confusion.  I was thoroughly entertained by the story and narrator whose accent I love.

The book had plenty of mystery and intrigue.  The book was entertaining, and I definitely want to read the whole series to see what happens with Mack.

I recommend this book to paranormal fans because it has a bit of everything and is definitely a wonderful story.
