Review @_JKHarper - Rescue Bear: Cortez by J.K. Harper (Silvertip Shifters #3)

Rescue Bear: Cortez
Silvertip Shifters #3
by J.K. Harper

Blurb:  Haley Adams used to have what she thought was a good life. Then it imploded in spectacular, awful fashion. After a long time, she’s finally ready to get out and live again. Leaving everything behind for a fresh start, she lands in the mountain shifter town of Deep Hollow, home to the Silvertip grizzly bear clan. When she meets impossibly attractive bear shifter Cortez Walker, her life is about to change again. All she needs to do is let go—and trust.

Cortez is a thrill seeker who used to live life on a risky edge. But a terrible accident proved that everything can change in a split second. Haunted by his failure to protect those who needed it, he struggles to find peace again even as he doubts everything he ever thought he did best. Then he meets Haley. Now he faces the biggest risk of all: opening his heart and claiming her as his mate. He’s up to the challenge—but first he’ll have to prove he can be her rescue bear.

About the Author:  J.K. Harper writes about paranormal romance and urban fantasy because despite a lifetime of wishing, all the cool supernatural book characters of her childhood just don't seem to be real. Besides, it's just really fun to make stuff up and play around in her imagination.

Julie is owned by three cats, two horses, and a dog. More horses are always a good thing, so she's working on adding to the herd. She lives in the rugged, gorgeous canyon country of the Southwest, which is a great place to let her imagination run wild.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  I own this ebook and the audiobook, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I have bought the whole series in ebook and filled out my collection of the audiobooks for this series too!

This is the third book in the Silvertip Shifters series.  I own 24 ebooks by J.K., and now 6 audiobooks.  This is for adults only due to the steamy content.  This audiobook is about 5 hours long or the ebook which is about 210 pages long.

Haley is house sitting for the Walkers.  She is human, but she knows about shifters.  She is a writer, and she has a past she is trying to get away from including her ex.  Cortez is trying to forget the past and an accident that occurred.  They are trying to figure things out.  There are some misunderstandings and some trouble.  This was a great story.  I couldn’t put it down.  Same narrator and she does a great job.  I really like the Silvertip Shifters and wonder when I will the matriarch and patriarch make an appearance because they have been on vacation the whole time so far.  I can’t wait to see whose story is next.

I highly recommend to any bear shifter fans because it is a great series!

Review @_JKHarper - Mountain Bear's Baby by J.K. Harper (Silvertip Shifters #2)

Mountain Bear's Baby
Silvertip Shifters #2
by J.K. Harper

Blurb:  a short, sexy yet sweet holiday tale set in the world of the Silvertip Shifters

Rough, gruff bear shifter Shane Walker left behind his fighting past for a fresh start in life. But when Jessie McMillan, the passionate three-night stand he also left behind, unexpectedly shows up shortly before Christmas with a baby boy that's his son, can he rein in his wild bear before he ruins everything again?

note: this story is also available in Shifters in the Snow: Bundle of Joy (ASIN B01M62IFXW).

I started listening last night and didn’t want to stop!  As a single parent, this one struck home.  Every single parent dreams that the absent parent will show up and be a part of their child’s life, but sadly it doesn’t happen often.  This was a feel good story that I was happy to read.  I was happy when she found Shane, and that he wanted to be a part of both of their lives.  I hope we get updates on this family in the future.

I highly recommend to all bear shifter fans especially if you love feel good stories!!

I really wanted to read today, but things kept popping up.  So I chose to go the audio route today, and I was happy I did.  This was a great listen and allowed me to do other things at the same time.  I really liked Quentin and Abby, but Cortez was hilarious how he handled his brother.  This was mostly the drama of their relationship and trying to make Abby see she was Quentin’s mate.  I usually like more action, but this story was a short feel good happy finding your mate kind of story.  I can’t wait to see who is up next in this series!

I highly recommend to anyone who loves J.K. Black Mesa Wolves and now you want to meet her bears!

Review @EveLanglais - Cleopatra's Return by Eve Langlais

Cleopatra's Return
by Eve Langlais

Goodreads blurb:  Once Queen of the Nile, now she’s the queen of their hearts—and bodies.

Cleopatra paid her dues in Hell for her mistakes, but Satan thinks she’s too dangerous to keep around, so he’s kicked her out into the modern world for a second chance.

Ambushed by demons, she is rescued by a dark knight, a vampire with whom she feels an instant connection.

But can she trust him?

For the first time, someone sees past her reputation to the woman. Michael seduces her. Loves her.

It should spell happily ever after until Julius shows up.

Face to face with the lover from her past, Cleo is torn. Who to choose? Or can she have them both?

The question of who to share her heart and bed with isn’t the only thing plaguing her. Danger stalks and mystery surrounds her existence.

Can this former queen find love in the modern world, or will her past return to destroy her?

Author’s Note: Cleopatra’s Return was originally published by Cobblestone Press as Cleopatra’s Men from January 14th 2011 until May 8th of 2014. Published anew in August of 2014 by Eve Langlais, this book has been expanded from its original version of 31.5k to 43k and features a new cover and title. Enjoy ~Eve

About the Author:  Hello, my name is Eve Langlais, and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens.

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  No one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  Okay I own this one in ebook, but I also have the audiobook because I won it.

So far, I really like anything I read or heard from Eve, but I haven’t read all that I own yet.  Never enough time to read everything.

This was a really cool story!  I love how you get a unique perspective of Egyptian history with a uniquely paranormal twist.  I loved the characters, and how they interacted together.  It is always awesome when a hero comes to the rescue, but that she can also rescue herself.  I listened to the audiobook while I mowed that lawn.  It is a great way to still be able to read so to speak when you can’t stop to read.  The narrator was great, and the story was amazing.  I can’t wait to read more of Eve’s books!

I highly recommend both the book and the audiobook to fans of history mixed with paranormal to make it uniquely awesome!

Review @ZoeChantebooks - The Midnight Dragon's Mate by Zoe Chant (Shifter Dads #2)

The Midnight Dragon's Mate
Shifter Dads #2
 by Zoe Chant

Goodreads blurb:  His worst nightmare could be a dream come true...

Single dad Lachlan only looked away for a second. And now his six-year-old son is gone, lost in the wild woods. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare...but most parents aren’t dragons. Mad with fear for his son, Lachlan is fully prepared to rip the whole forest apart to find him...

Botanist Cam likes peace, quiet, and all the things that little kids aren’t. But when a lost little boy stumbles into her research camp, of course she’s going to look after him. Especially since these woods are pretty weird, and who knows what could be lurking out there in the trees. Not that Cam, a career scientist, believes in the supernatural.

Until, that is, the dragon shows up...

Suddenly Cam finds herself caught up in a whole world of magic, devoted family, and even potential danger. She’s always been determined to stay married to her career, both feet firmly on the ground. Can she let go of her fears, embrace Lachlan and his son, and fly?

The Midnight Dragon’s Mate is a standalone dragon shifter romance with a sexy Marine veteran hero, a smart heroine, adorable children, and a sizzling touch of action. No cliffhangers!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I buy most of Zoe Chant’s books because I love her HEAs and her style of writing!  I will own this one soon!

The cover is awesome, but this is no surprise!

I love this series!  This is the second book in the series.  It is not required, but I would read book 1 before you read this one because then you know the history of this pack and the rival pack.  This is for adults due to the steamy content.

Lachlan and his son are awesome, and they were easy to love in this book as well as Cam.  They fit together as a family well. And they get through things together.  This was an easy read that made me smile.

I highly recommend to any shifter fans especially if you love mixed shifter communities who come together when trouble comes calling.  If I need a book to make my day better, Zoe Chants are a go to for it.
