Review @SennahTate @AmelieHunt - Smolder by Sennah Tate (Sunset Glade Panthers #4)

Smolder
Sunset Glade Panthers #4
by Sennah Tate

Goodreads blurb:  Panther shifter Garret Dendras makes bad decisions. No -- he’s made some f*cking horrible choices, and now he’s got no friends or family left. He’s a total pariah in his town with enough regrets to last him a lifetime, but his biggest regret of all is letting Ally go.

Allison MacDonald gave up on her first love long ago. Garret chose a life of crime over her, and it hurt, but it’s been years. She’s over it, and she should be: now she’s a doctor with a new job, ready to start the life she always dreamed about.

That is, until he shows up at her Nana’s, panicking about his own grandmother’s health. His concern makes her have some second thoughts… maybe that sweet boy she remembered is still in there, after all.

When Garret’s Grandma, Nana’s best friend, takes a turn for the worse, Garret learns about his family’s secrets and Ally learns there’s more in the swamp than meets the eye. Can the two former sweethearts work together to solve the riddle, navigate the wilderness, and find the Fountain of Youth?

Is the second time the charm?

About the Author:  Sennah Tate is an up and coming Florida author in the world of romance. She likes writing about fiery heroines unashamed of their curves and the sizzling hot shifters that can't get enough of them.

The cover is beautiful and fits well with the series!

This is the 4th book in the series, and it is still for adults only due to the content.

This is Garrett’s story.  He was part of what used to be Silvanus’ pack.  Due to things that happened in book 3, he is a bit lost and floundered.  Ally is a nurse, and she has old wounds she is still nursing.  This is more of an emotional journey that the battles that have been part of the first 3 books.  I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like Garrett.  I only wish there was more because I didn’t want it to end.

I definitely like Sennah Tate’s writing style and can’t wait to read more of her work!

I highly recommend this series and yes I think they should be read in order to all shifter lovers!

Review @OpheliaDragons @AmelieHunt - Bitten by Ophelia Bell (Black Mountain Bears #2)

Bitten
Black Mountain Bears #2
by Ophelia Bell

Goodreads blurb:  Fate and Desire make strange bedfellows…

Jasper Stonetree used to think he knew what he wanted, but meeting the beautiful pair of ursa who just saved his life changes everything. Autumn Sundance and Gunnar Windchaser have him twisted so tight he can’t think straight. He’s actually considering falling for them, which is completely out of his character—romantic entanglements only lead to pain, after all. He knows that better than anyone.

Except Autumn, whose pain is so palpable Jasper can almost taste it. She alone understands the danger in loving too fiercely, and she has paid the price—a devastating tax that has come back to haunt her.

To save her, Jasper must accept the truth of what he is. He is an ursa male, and one of two chosen to be the future mate of a high-ranking female.

And that female is in trouble.

On the chase to find the missing piece of his incomplete soul, Jasper is forced to make a choice. Leave behind his true family—his blood—or take a step there will be no retreat from to rescue the woman he loves, and forge a new family outside the ursa Sanctuary.

About the Author:  Ophelia Bell writes about sex. She doesn’t write sex to arouse others, though that is a happy side effect. She writes sex for the very specific and personal reason of experiencing those things that tie her to the earth, that keep her grounded. It might seem counterintuitive – that sex elevates us (at least if it’s enjoyable) because of all the analogies to flying away we see in erotic writing, but Ophelia thinks Milan Kundera asked the right questions:
“The heavier the burden, the closer our lives come to the earth, the more real and truthful they become. Conversely, the absolute absence of burden causes man to be lighter than air, to soar into heights, take leave of the earth and his earthly being, and become only half real, his movements as free as they are insignificant. What then shall we choose? Weight or lightness?” – The Unbearable Lightness of Being

The cover definitely fits in with all the Amelie Hunt sets having both beasts on the cover!

This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is definitely for adults only due to the steamy content.  Just like book 1 there are two guys and a girl.  This one has more with the guys together, and their love for each other.  I definitely think you want to read them in order to build your understanding of the world Ophelia has created.

This is Jasper’s story (Emma’s cousin).  Jasper has some baggage as well as Autumn.  The three of them have to work out their issues.  For the most part, there is not much action; this is mostly emotional and romance.  I definitely understood the world more and enjoyed reading it!

I recommend this series to the bear shifter fans!

Review @AmelieHunt - Snowman by Maeve Morrick (Arctic Station Bears #2)

Snowman
Arctic Station Bears #2
by Maeve Morrick

Goodreads blurb:  Arctic Station is dark and Alanna MacCready is freezing. She was lured into a trap at the frigid edge of the world. Her enemy has cut off power and communications. No one is coming to help and there is no escape. She and the bears are on their own against an ancient enemy.

The Company, the faceless, calculating organization that runs Arctic Station, knows something has gone terribly wrong. Scrambling to prevent the worldwide exposure of a potentially deadly virus, they dispatch a team to cover up the incident. Survivors are expendable.

Now the clock is ticking and the temperature is dropping. Alanna will have to count on sexy polar bear Alpha Liam to help her heat things up. And they’ll both have to count on their friends more than ever as they face both this new threat and a very old one.

About the Author:  Maeve draws from the fantasies of friends (extracted with wine, of course) when crafting her torrid tales. Nothing pleases her more than to know that someone enjoyed a story as much as she enjoyed writing it!

When not tickling her keyboard, she's probably trying to dislodge her cat from it so she can write, or bribing her dog to not eat her cat with varying degrees of success.

She's also fond of blues music, people-watching, aesthetics, video games, cooking, art, movies, and travel. Also, were dirty stories mentioned? She likes those, too.

Last thing, and probably the most important: she can make a cup of hot chocolate that will knock your socks off.

The cover is beautiful and fits in with everything!

Okay this is the 2nd book in the series, but this series is not like the others in Amelie Hunt’s collection.  I have decided this series is a serial series because it is all part of the same story.  I suspected as much when the first book ended, but I now know this is a serial series.  I do believe this set is complete, so you can get all 3 and read it without waiting.  This is definitely for adults only due to the violence and steamy scenes.

This is Alanna’s continued story from book 1.  I highly recommend reading them in order, or you may be a little lost.  I love all the action in the series, and you really have no idea where it will go next.  I love when it is not predictable.  I’m off to read the 3rd book now :)

I highly recommend this set for those who love action packed bear adventures and don’t mind serials!

Blaze
Sunset Glade Panthers #3

Goodreads blurb:  Mahyem. Magic. Old curses. New passion. Just another day in Sunset Glade where danger and desire run rampant through the swamp.

Weird things always happen when Elena visits her Aunt Bea in Sunset Glade. She never thought much of the mysterious occurrences until her elderly aunt asks her for a visit. Elena freaks when she hears that the family secrets Bea wants to tell her about involve magical powers and a decades-old curse.

Benny has lived his entire adult life as a sasquatch. Cursed to look like a monster, he’s been unable to socialize with anyone other than his brother — until recently. Until he found her. The one woman who saw through his exterior and treated him in a way no one had in years — like he was human.

Despite their differences, Benny and Elena are drawn to each other, admiration and attraction growing until their chemistry can no longer be denied. Even as a chance at love begins to bloom, a malicious presence in the swamp rises and threatens all they’ve worked for. Soon the fate of many rests on Benny and Elena’s shoulders, and they’ll have to fight to save the town, their lives, and so much more...

The cover is beautiful, but I love the big cats :)

This is the 3rd book in the novella series, and it is still for adults only due to the steamy content.  I really like this world that Sennah has created.  She does a fantastic job grabbing your attention and pulling you into the story where putting it down is not an option.

This is Benny’s story!!  YAY!!  He really deserved his story, so I was ecstatic when I started reading.  Elena is just wonderful, and I’m glad she could deal with everything.  I don’t want to give anything away, but lots of awesomeness happened.  I’m wondering who the fourth book is about….guess I should go read it :)

Review @AmelieHunt - Snowbound by Maeve Morrick (Arctic Station Bears #1)

Snowbound
Arctic Station Bears #1
by Maeve Morrick

Goodreads blurb:  Alanna MacCready likes to keep her life simple. Work, home, the comfort of an early bedtime every night. She can’t abide by chaos, which is too bad… When she gets a phone call in the middle of the night, she packs her bags and heads to the coldest place on Earth for the scientific discovery of a lifetime. No comfortable routines in the Arctic…

Instead, she runs headfirst into two devastatingly handsome shifters. If Alanna were honest with herself, she wants nothing more than to let sexy scientist Liam Roy warm her during the long winter nights. The second they see each other, there is no denying the spark between them, the connection that threatens to burn them both.

As things are heating up with Liam, someone far more dangerous is eyeing Alanna from the shadows, threatening her very life. Alanna will have to choose between two lovers as she fights for her life and the possibility of happily ever after…

As long as she doesn’t end up SNOWBOUND forever.

The cover is beautiful like all of the sets that belong to this group of series!  I always love when you have both the man and his beast on the cover!

This is the first book in this series, and it is a novella.  It is definitely for adults only due to the content.

Wow, this was just amazing!  I didn’t expect just an action-packed and complex adventure!  This could have totally been beefed up and turned into a full novel, and I totally wish it was because I didn’t want it to end!  This is my first time reading Maeve Morrick, and I will definitely be reading more and keeping my eye out for when she publishes new books!  She grabbed my attention from the start and I couldn’t put the book down.

I love Alanna because she is fierce and won’t take crap from anyone including a polar bear.  She has a spirit that I love to see in my alpha females.  I don’t want to give anything away, so I’m not going to say any more!  I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I highly recommend to all my bear lovin’ friends!

Review @SennahTate @AmelieHunt - Ember by Sennah Tate (Sunset Glade Panthers #2)

Ember
Sunset Glade Panthers #2
by Sennah Tate

Goodreads blurb:  She never expected the baddest boy in town to be able to break down her walls. But when her cage is finally unlocked, will she run free or stay trapped in her past?

Hailey has led a sheltered life — beyond sheltered, in fact. A freak accident in her childhood made her parents over-protective and left Hailey mentally scarred for life and woefully naive. The death of her grandfather brings her back to the place where it all began and long-repressed memories begin to surface, igniting a thirst for answers.

Meanwhile, Hailey has to contend with the attentions of the town bad boy, Brock Silvanus, a wannabe thug that’s intent on running the town with intimidation tactics. He’s not as rough with her, though — he could even be called kind in certain instances — but she’s been warned not to lower her guard.

No amount of sexy smirks and rippling abs can make a guy lessbad, right?

As Brock attempts to help Hailey unlock the secrets to her past, they grow closer, and Brock’s entire way of life is thrown into question. Should the Alpha stay true to his badass past, or open himself to the mate he thought he’d lost forever?

The cover is awesome and is a perfect fit!

This is the 2nd book in this novella series!  It is for adults only due to the steamy adult scenes and violence.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book because I didn’t think much of Brock Silvanus, but I’m happy to say that I understand him more and he has redeemed himself in my eyes.  Hailey is a very strong person because I’m not sure I could endure all she did and come out the other side intact.  I loved read their story and learning more about what is going on in Sunset Glade.

Sennah Tate does a fabulous job weaving her tale and enthralling you that putting down the story is not an option.  Love this series!

Goodreads blurb:  Whispered secrets drag the past out of the swamp and lead Gabi to the last place on Earth she ever expected to be, thrust into the arms of a man she never expected to get...

Gabrielle Fairway has long dealt with the snickering, whispered rumors and taunting thanks to her father’s obsession with bigfoot. Now that dad’s getting on in years, his daughters think it may be time to admit the elderly biologist to a nursing home. Lucky Gabi gets to go down and break the news to him, which brings her clawing her way back to her hometown of Sunset Glade.

Tucker Auric has been hiding not one, but two secrets — his and his brother’s. It’s hard enough being a panther shifter without a pack, but protecting his sasquatch sibling from the prying eyes of paranormal hunters is running him ragged. One look at Gabi has Tucker realizing that he needs someone like her in his life… and his bed.

An attack in the swamp thrusts bookish Gabi and her long-time crush together as they work to solve the mystery of the murderous shifter. When the evildoer turns their attention to Gabi and Tucker, they’ll have to decide where their loyalties lie or risk losing the love they’ve only just discovered...

The cover is beautiful, but I am very partial to big kitties :)  Definitely fits in with the theme of all the sets brought to us by Amelie Hunt.

This is the first story in this series, and my first time reading Sennah Tate.  This is of course and one of the silly things that I’ve done because I own a tons of her books and if they are like this book; I definitely need to get to work :)  This set is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence.

Sennah Tate did a fabulous job grabbing my attention and holding on.  Her creativity is amazing and I can’t wait to read more of her stories.

This is Gabi and Tucker’s story.  Gabi is kind and fierce.  Tucker is amazing with how he cares for his brother.  I hope we get to know his brother better in the future and that we will see more of Gabi and Tucker.  I can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens next!

I highly recommend this story to shifter fans especially if you love big cats and especially if you are already fans of Sennah Tate!

Review @CassidyWrites - Scholar by Cass Reynolds (Emerald Isle Tigers #3)

Scholar
Emerald Isle Tigers #3
by Cass Reynolds

Goodreads blurb:  Theron is everything that Lily hates and fears. He’s a shifter and a scientist and a stubborn jerk to boot, and his alpha swagger and sexy body can’t lessen that… or not totally, at least. She reaches out to try to warn him of a violent threat and ends up embroiled in a fight-or-flight plot that might save or kill them both. Sink or swim, Lily and Theron are bound to see it through.

Theron spends his life trying to get back to normal, away from his shifter self and the violent tragedy the tiger brought into his life. Lily is a distraction, a temptation he can’t afford during a war that will affect many. When he and Lily are forced to take up arms together, their growing bond begins as disgust and fear and quickly blossoms into something far more worrisome…

Will Lily and Theron set aside their prejudices long enough to realize that they can heal each other?

The cover is definitely stunning with the tiger and fits with the rest of the series and the rest of the sets too!  Amelie Hunt did a great job with the covers!

This has been my favorite story of the set.  This is Theron and Lily’s story.  This is the 3rd book and is of course still for adults only due to content.  It is about 70 pages in length.

Okay so Theron really makes himself out to be a jerk…I’d use a stronger word though.  Lily is a sweetheart who just wants to make a difference and has a beautiful spirit.  They both have a back story that makes your jaw drop.  Theron sort of redeems himself toward the end, but I want things worked out more between him and Finn.  I hope there will be more of their stories in the future especially Diesel’s story.

I recommend this series to tiger shifter fans, and I can’t wait to see what Cass comes up with next :)

The cover is very steamy!

This is the first part in a new serial series.  It is for adults only due to the steamy content.

This is an action packed first part and grabs your attention and holds on until the end which comes way too quickly.  I still don’t understand everything about this new world, but I am very intrigued and can’t wait to read more.  Adriana is fierce and brave.  I really like her and can’t wait to see what happens next.

I always enjoy Lynn Red’s work though this is her first serial series, and she started it fabulously!  I highly recommend this serial from what I’ve read so far, but if you do not want to wait for the parts then I would collect them and wait until it is complete to read it!  If you are a shifter fan, you will want to read this!
