Review @donnamcdonald13 - Heidi by Donna McDonald (Nano Wolves #3)

Heidi
Nano Wolves #3
by Donna McDonald

Goodreads blurb:  Heidi was a lover, not a fighter, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t take care of herself.

Heidi liked her new life as a Healer in the Gray Wolf Pack. She liked Ryan Calder too. But liking didn’t mean she wanted to be his mate. She was just finding her personal freedom—just finally doing what she felt she’d always been meant to do. Why did Ryan have to keep pressuring her?

She’d badly wanted a break from him, but being kidnapped wasn’t what she had in mind. Help would be coming for her. Her Alpha and her Beta would not stop until she was found. Unfortunately, they might be too late to save her from being dissected. Scientist Diane Crane was determined to learn all her genetic secrets and make more nano wolves.

Her pack sees her as a liability when it comes to fighting. Does she have what it takes to save herself? Heidi’s about to find out.

About the Author:  I am an active dreamer and find writing to be the best way to use my creativity. Needing to satisfy both sides of my brain, I have become a cross-genre author of contemporary, romantic comedy, fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal romances.

I feel blessed that my books appear on bestseller lists for humor, romantic comedy, space opera, and more. I crave laughter from all my readers and focus my attention on making that happen as often as possible.

I love to hear from anyone who has read my books. Each reader is a hero or heroine to me. I am inspired by you.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover is pretty nice and what attracted me to look into this book!

This is the third book in the series, but the first book I’ve read in this series and by this author.  Of course this is for adults only due to the steamy scenes and violence.  You can read this book and still know what is going on, but I suspect it would be way better if I had read book 1 and 2 and knew the characters better and their gifts.

I really liked Heidi, and she has a lot more strength than everyone was giving her as well as morals.  I didn’t know what to think of Ryan in the beginning, but I liked him and understood him better in the end.  This was a unique take on a new wolf pack with nano tech.  I really liked Donna’s writing style and will definitely check out more of her work when I can afford it.  Awesome storyline and action packed with all sorts of new ideas!

I highly recommend this to any wolf shifter fans who want a new adventure!

Review @laurendane - Bonded Pair by Lauren Dane (Cascadia Wolves #5)

Bonded Pair
Cascadia Wolves #5
by Lauren Dane

Goodreads blurb:  Previously published under a different title

A Cascadia Wolves novella

Megan Warden, Seattle's devoted Enforcer of the Cascadia pack, knows that she has a mate. Somewhere. She's just never found him. Then there he is at her cousin's wedding. Megan isn't just drawn to the werewolf's masculine, head-spinning scent—she's consumed by it. He seems so perfect, there has to be a catch…

With a successful practice in Las Vegas, Dr. Shane Rosario has lived outside the pack since he was born. Raised to hide his wolf in shame, he always assumed he'd marry a human.

Until Megan. Shane thrills to the ease with which she wears her wolf, and he craves every inch of her. But the idea of forever could be impossible. He's not willing to abandon his human life—even for a mate.

Something's got to give. Because this time, even destiny may not be enough to bind them.

This book is approximately 44,000 words

About the Author:  Lauren Dane has been writing stories since she was able to use a pencil, and before that she used to tell them to people. Of course, she still talks nonstop, and through wonderful fate and good fortune, she’s now able to share what she writes with others. It’s a wonderful life!

The basics: Lauren is a mom, a partner, a best friend and a daughter. Living in the rainy but beautiful Pacific Northwest, she spends her late evenings writing like a fiend when she finally wrestles all of her kids to bed.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover matches the series new look!

This is the fifth book in the series!  It is for adults only due to the steamy scenes.  I recommend reading the series in order because it makes it a richer experience with all the characters because you know their quirks and personalities better.

I really liked this story, but for me I wanted more action.  This story was all about the drama of Megan’s mating to Shane.  Shane has a lot of issues caused by his mom.  Shane is also Layla’s anchor, so this causes some issues as well.

Lauren’s writing is fabulous and makes the story come alive!  I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I recommend this book to shifters fans who love relationship drama and baggage!

Review @ZoeChantebooks - Firefighter Sea Dragon by Zoe Chant (Fire & Rescue Shifters #4)

Firefighter Sea Dragon
Fire & Rescue Shifters #4
by Zoe Chant

Goodreads blurb:  A lonely woman who feels like a fish out of water + a firefighter sea dragon baffled by human ways + a forbidden love that will shake the whole sea = one magical romance!

Neridia Small just wants to fit in - but that's hard when you stand six foot six in your bare feet. Maybe it would be okay if she was supermodel skinny to go with her supermodel height, but a ridiculously tall, fat black woman? She's only ever attracted the wrong sort of attention. She longs to find a man who'll look past her size and see the real her. A nice, normal man...

John Doe will never understand humans. A sea dragon knight from the hidden underwater city of Atlantis, he reluctantly took human form in order to search the land for the missing Pearl Emperor, ruler of all sea shifters. Though John has found unexpected friendship as part of a unique all-shifter firefighting team, his heart will always lie under the ocean... until he rescues Neridia from a mugging.

As a knight, John's forbidden from taking any mate - let alone a human. And a sea dragon's honor is his life. But when a decades-old secret rises to the surface at last, only John can protect Neridia from a deadly foe. Fate binds John and Neridia together, honor demands that they stay apart... and love will require one of them to sacrifice everything.

Firefighter Sea Dragon is a sizzling hot, standalone BBW dragon shifter romance novel. No cliffhangers!

About the Author:  Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!

This cover matches the series!

This is the fourth book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the violence and steamy scenes.  I highly recommend reading the series in order to make it a much richer experience with the characters.

John is already a character I love because his lack of comprehension or misunderstandings are at times hilarious.  Neridia is strong, but she has issues of feeling inadequate with the way people have treated her like she doesn’t belong.

As always with Zoe’s books, there is the perfect combination of action, drama, treachery, and romance.  I love her style of HEAs.  Her books are easy to love if shifters and HEAs are your thing.

I highly recommend this whole series to all shifter lovers especially if you love HEAs and Zoe already!

Review @laurendane - Alpha's Challenge by Lauren Dane (Cascadia Wolves #4)

Alpha’s Challenge
Cascadia Wolves #4
by Lauren Dane

Goodreads blurb:  Previously published by another publisher under a different title

"Mark me and make me yours."

As an unmated alpha, Cade was beginning to believe his entire life would be dedicated to the pack. He'd do anything for his pack family, but his life isn't complete without someone to share it with. He didn't expect to finally find his reason for being in the heart and soul of his greatest enemy's sister.

Dr. Grace Pellini has never felt so isolated and afraid. Ever since her rogue brother threatened the existence of wolf and human alike with a viral weapon, she had no choice but to cut all ties with her pack. But now Grace has something new: Cade Warden, whose body and exhilarating scent make her come undone. In him, she's not only found her destined mate, she's also rediscovered herself, and her place in a world at war.

But the Cascadia wolves are not so unquestioning as Cade is of Grace's loyalty, and their suspicions are posing a dangerous threat. Now, to defeat a madman and end the war, Cade and Grace have only each other to trust—by finding their ultimate strength in the power of desire…

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover and name changed in its makeover though I’m not sure if any of the content changed because this is my first time reading it!

I messed up the count on my last review because I was counting Reluctant Mate in the books, but it is a prequel.  This is the 4th book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.  While you probably could read the books in any order, I don’t recommend it because it is much better when you read them in order because you know and understand the other characters better.  It makes it a richer experience.

I already loved Cade from previously books though he did make some knuckled-headed moves in this book though what male doesn’t.  Grace has grace, and she has always put others first.  She is a doctor, but unfortunate for her also related to Warren the psycho.  There is tons of action, attacks, drama, and more.  Lauren Dane did a fantastic job bringing this story to life and making it very hard to put down.

I highly recommend this book and series to all wolf shifter fans!  I can’t wait to read the next book to see what comes next for the packs!

Review @JessieDauthor - Aiding the Dragon by Jessie Donovan (Stonefire Dragons #9)

Aiding the Dragon
Stonefire Dragons #9
by Jessie Donovan

Goodreads blurb:  Teagan O’Shea is a rare female dragon-shifter leader. While her Irish clan has a tradition of female leaders, they have had to hide behind a public male face for centuries to keep the other clans from viewing them as weaker and attacking. When the truth leaks, Teagan is faced with a choice—hand over the leadership to a male or invite the challengers to a leadership trial and earn her place. Out to prove having a penis isn’t required to be a leader, she picks the latter.

Aaron Caruso is sent to Ireland under the guise of repairing relations between two clans on the isle of Ireland. However, upon arrival he learns the truth. Determined to secure Teagan’s place so he can escape her alluring eyes and addicting personality, he busies himself with helping her any way he can. A female used him once and he’s not about to go through that again, no matter how much the Irish female tempts him.

As the pair work together on preparations for the leadership trial, both Aaron and Teagan start to see each other in a new light. Both have their own self-imposed loneliness and yearn for something they can’t have. Can Aaron and Teagan not only change tradition but also open their hearts? Or will they each be doomed to live alone to fight their inner battles?

84,000 words with a happy ending. / 18+ for explicit language and sexual situations. / Dragon-shifter romance set in Ireland.

About the Author:  Jessie Donovan wrote her first story at age five, and after discovering the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey in junior high, realized that people actually wanted to read stories like those floating around inside her head. From there on out, she was determined to tap into her over-active imagination and write a book someday.

After living abroad for five years and earning degrees in Japanese, Anthropology, and Secondary Education, she buckled down and finally wrote her first full-length book. While that story will never see the light of day, it laid the world-building groundwork of what would become her debut paranormal romance, Blaze of Secrets.

Jessie loves to interact with readers. When not reading or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, can often be found on Facebook and Twitter.

The one thing you'll find in all of Jessie's stories are strong, capable women and the people who love them.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover is amazing as always!  The covers of the dragon books are always fantastic and grab your attention!

This is the 9th book in the Stonefire series, and it is for adults only due to all the steamy scenes.  I highly recommend reading all the dragon books in the order they were written making sure to include the Lochguard books too!  All the characters and story lines are more as a whole together than the sum of each of its parts.

This book is Aaron Caruso’s story, and if you remember he had some chemistry with Teagan when we were first introduced to her Irish Clan and that they have a female clan leader.  Both of them have past hurts to get over, and try not to judge each other by those past hurts.  Of course, there is plenty of action because the Dragon Hunters and Dragon Knights are always up to some trouble.  This book has a challenge, treachery, support, and romance galore.  Jessie always has the perfect combination of everything to pull you into the story, entertain you, make you feel for the characters, and she always leaves with something to think about for the next book.  She is one of my favorite authors, and I love her books.

I highly recommend this book and especially this series to any shifter lover especially if you love Jessie already!

Review @EvangelineA - Buck Naked by Evangeline Anderson (Cougarville #1)

Buck Naked
Cougarville #1
by Evangeline Anderson

Goodreads blurb:  Sadie Becker is not herself. A 40-year-old, divorced mother of two, Sadie wakes up one morning and realizes that she looks and feels like she did in her twenties. Suddenly she’s unable to walk around in her new town of Cougarville without men falling at her feet. Confused and alone, Sadie isn’t sure who to turn to…except answers to her problems might reside with her broodingly handsome reclusive neighbor, Mathis.

An alpha shifter, Mathis lost the love of his life, and he knows he’ll never find another mate. But his innocent new neighbor clearly doesn’t know the danger she’s in, and he's the only one who can save her.

But when the attraction pulls too strong, will Mathis’ animal nature be unleashed and claim Sadie for his own? Buck Naked is a sexy, emotional thrill-ride that will hook readers on this fantastic new series.

About the Author:  Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  I got a review copy of book 2, and I wanted to read book 1 first, so I bought it.  No one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

This is the first book in the series.  It is for adults only due to the graphic violence and steamy scenes.  This is my first time reading any of Evangeline’s work.

This is definitely an interesting and unique world.  Like Sadie, I was lost as to what a Juvie was and what this new world was about until Mathis explained it.  You really feel and understand what Sadie is going through because you were just as confused.  Mathis is gruff and standoffish, but you don’t understand until later when he tells his story.  Keller is really a jerk, and I’m not sure I even like him.  We will see if he redeems himself in the future.  Sammie is pretty cool, and I love her spunky attitude.  It will be interesting to see if she will follow her sister and become a Juvie.

Evangeline does a fantastic job making the story come alive, and I can definitely see this series getting better and better.  It takes me a couple books before I really mesh with a new author’s style and writing.  I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2.

I recommend this series to any shifter fan who wants a unique new world that isn’t the norm.

This is a standalone book, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.

I was pulled in from the beginning of this book.  Emily is loyal and family driven.  She takes care of her mom, and she has given up most of her dreams to ensure her family is taken care of, but she hasn’t lost her spirit.  Gabriel has been lonely because he was an orphan who was pushed from house to house and constantly being returned.  He had a secret and thought he would live his life alone.  He saved Emily, and they had an adventure together.

Zoe Chant always does a fantastic job making the perfect HEA stories where she makes the perfect combination of action and romance.  She makes the stories come alive.  I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

I highly recommend this story to shifter lovers who love reading stories of mythical shifters especially with HEA endings!  HEAs have been my favorite kind of story lately!
