Review @Violet__Vaughn - Werewolf on Your Mind by V. Vaughn (Smokey Falls Wolves #3)

Werewolf on Your Mind
Smokey Falls Wolves #3
by V. Vaughn

Goodreads blurb:  When Alisha learned Juliet, her former college roommate, was a werewolf, she wasn’t afraid. She was intrigued. And now, months later, she’s obsessed with becoming one too. All she needs is a mate to change her, and she knows Juliet’s pack is where she can find one.

Luck is on Alisha’s side, and within hours of arriving in Smokey Falls, she meets her true mate, Jackson. But he isn’t the kind of man she'd imagined. Jackson is a feral werewolf firefighter who’d rather not deal with people, while Alisha is accustomed to a country-club lifestyle. True mate attraction doesn’t care, though, and it makes Alisha decide all Jackson needs is a little training. Too bad Jackson has other ideas.

About the Author:  V. Vaughn is the pen name for Violet Vaughn, a USA Today Bestselling author. Violet lives in New Hampshire and spends almost every day walking through the woods. She may have seen a bear once or twice....

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I will collect this series when I can!

This is the 3rd book in this series, and it is for adults only due to adult content.  I recommend reading the series in order because events from book 1 and 2 are mentioned, and the world is much more awesome as a whole when you read them in order together.

This is Alisha’s story.  When she attended her friend’s wedding, she saw how happy both of her friends really were with mates, and she wants that kind of love.  Alisha and Jackson are complete opposites, and this makes for an interesting story.  I love this pack, and each story gets better and better.  I can’t wait for more love at Smokey Falls because you never know what will happen next.

I highly recommend to any shifter fan especially if you love Violet’s work and HEA stories!  I couldn’t put it down until I finished it!

Review @TJShawAuthor - Sleeping Dragon Stirs Part Two by T.J. Shaw (Outside the Veil #2)

Sleeping Dragon Stirs
Outside the Veil #2
by T.J. Shaw

Goodreads blurb:  Part two in the exciting epic fantasy romance serial trilogy, Rogue Dragon Rising.

As the day of her awakening nears, Amari Hawke struggles to control the beast inside her. Basking in the energy of the approaching Trinity moon, her animal’s strength has increased to the point it can control Amari’s mind and body. Fearing she is about to slip into madness, Amari is forced into a tough choice.

In a desperate attempt to save Amari and her beast, Jaxon Blackthorn encourages his cadre, the men in his trusted circle, to establish mental links with her, but when his plans fail and Amari’s animal exerts control, he must fight for the beautiful woman who is lost to her beast.

Together, can Amari and Jaxon’s developing bond for each other overcome the urges driving Amari’s animal as they also thwart an unseen enemy vying to keep them apart?

Please note: Alpha Dragon Awakes, the third book in the serial trilogy and exciting conclusion to Jaxon and Amari’s story, is set to release in December, 2018.

About the Author:  As a child, TJ thrived in the Arizona desert. By the age of five she was riding horses through cotton fields and by eleven bought her first motorcycle, a Honda 125cc dirt bike. Growing up with teachers as parents meant traveling during the summer. Hiking, backpacking, fly fishing, climbing pyramids, surviving earthquakes, and flying in hot air balloons were just some of her adventures. An avid day dreamer, she would lose herself in mystical worlds and far off places limited only by her imagination. After choosing an academic scholarship over an athletic basketball scholarship, she graduated law school and accepted a position as a Deputy County Attorney. However, prosecuting felony crimes was not as exciting as she hoped, so she traded in her briefcase and the courtroom for a Glock and patrol car. She worked the road as a police officer for five years and now tells officers what to do as a policy writer for a police department. TJ writes from her heart by incorporating her dreams and experiences to create strong, passionate characters who must overcome personal flaws to survive against the challenges of traversing through magical realms, undiscovered planets, and apocalyptic catastrophes.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I do plan to collect this set when it is in one set.

This is the second book in a serial trilogy, and this means that there are 3 parts that go together to tell one story, and they end in cliffhangers until the 3rd book.  Some people may not like serials, and if you are one of them wait and read all 3 books together once they publish.  This is for adults only and does have sensitive topics including abduction and selling people.

This is a unique shifter world where not all shifters can handle the transformation and those who don’t go rogue and hurt people.  In this world, shifters are divided into carnivores and herbivores where carnivores tend to protect those under their care.  Amari still doesn’t remember her past.  Jaxon wants Amari as his mate, but his past is haunting him after what his dad endured.  His cadre helps him with everything from protection to advice.  Amari’s family now knows she is alive.  There is a murder mystery, and the Protectorate rep has arrived in the area to prepare for Trinity.  So much going on, I can’t wait to see how everything works on in the end.  Amari is protective and fierce, love her strong character.  Jaxon and his cadre make a great family and nest, and I think Amari fits in perfectly!

I highly recommend to any shifter fans who love new unique worlds!  If serials aren’t your thing, wait until the whole set publishes because you don’t want to miss this set and story!

Review @ZoeChantebooks - A Bride for the Dragon by Zoe Chant (Lost Dragons #4)

A Bride for the Dragon
Lost Dragons #4
by Zoe Chant

Goodreads blurb:  Trapped in human form. Stripped of his memories and transported to a strange city where none of his magic works. His only ally: A beautiful stranger who seems to have known him all his life.

Dragon prince Liev Drakos has no idea what’s going on. But he’s sure of one thing: He’ll protect this mysterious woman from the beastly assassins pursuing her, or die trying.

Because even if he doesn’t know her, there’s something about her that calls to the deepest part of him... something that he knows he can’t live without.

Robbed of her powers. A murderous manticore on her tail. The only person she can trust: An amnesiac dragon prince who sets her soul on fire.

Dragon shifter Darklis Novak is happy leading a quiet life, loving nothing more than curling up with a good book. But now she’s on the run from a deadly threat, and in way over her head.

She has only her wits, the clothes on her back... and a devastatingly handsome dragon prince, who doesn’t remember her name – much less that he’s her fated mate.

Combining magical romance and heart-pounding action, A Bride for the Dragon, the fourth in the Lost Dragons series, will delight fans of TS Joyce, Terry Bolryder, and Harmony Raines. No cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

About the Author:  Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, and no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I have bought this book because I loved it, and I own most of Zoe’s books!

This is the 4th book in the Lost Dragons series.  While not mandatory, I highly recommend reading the books in order because you will know the characters, world, and history of what has happen making it all much more as a whole that the separate pieces.  It is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content.

Tons of action and adventure in this book not to mention a prince.  But who is rescuing whom?  I’ll never tell because you need to read it for yourself.  Zoe Chant always does a fantastic job pulling your into her stories.  She always have a perfect mix of action, treachery, intrigue, romance, and some mystery too.  All of my favorites from this series make an appearance too!  There is also someone new that I suspect we will see more of in the future!

I highly recommend to any dragon shifter fan especially if you love Zoe’s work already!  I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Review @Terrybelle13 - Interview with her Bear by Summer Donnelly (Shifter Special Forces #6)

Interview with her Bear
Shifter Special Forces #6
by Summer Donnelly

Goodreads blurb:  Blogger Luna Flowers has arrived in Silver Fells, NC to help bring awareness to the Shifter Marriage Act being floated in Raleigh. But Luna has an ulterior motive, a secret that she's been asked to keep that could change the way the shifters view themselves.

Bartender Jason Fox wasn't looking for love. He'd long since given up on trying to find his mate. The 6'7" shifter was aware he wasn't good with small things and was content with his lot in life. But when he meets tiny Luna, he may need to rethink his position on mates, love, and small things.

Will Luna's secret break them apart? Can Jason trust himself and his mate? Will the magic of Little Yellow (aka The Love Shack) prevail? Find out in Interview with her Bear.

About the Author:  Reader Beware! Author believes in love at first sight, fairy tales, happily ever afters, insta-love, and happy endings.

Sweet, frothy romance between strong women finding their way in life and love and the men who capture their hearts.

Lots of emphasis on strong female friendships.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I bought this book, and I own the whole series so far!

The cover is awesome!  I love covers that have both forms of the beast on the cover!

This is the 6th book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy scenes.  While not required, I do highly recommend reading the whole series in order because they do touch back to previous books and their timelines.

In the last book, we met Luna who is a blogger.  This is her and Jason’s story.  There is a little excitement, and she is trying to help her grandmother, but she can’t tell they others.  She is helping shifters by bringing awareness and support to their cause.  I loved this story and couldn’t put it down.  I don’t want to give anything away, but Little Yellow’s luck is still going strong.  Summer does a fantastic job writing wonderful HEAs with veterans, and I can’t wait for more!

I highly recommend to any shifter fan who loves HEAs and veterans.  This is the best of both.  I can’t wait to see what happens with Luna’s grandparents.

Review - Leopard's Daughter by Stephen J. Tillman

Leopard's Daughter
by Stephen J. Tillman

Goodreads blurb:  Leopard’s Daughter is a markedly original crime novel with elements of the occult. In a world where vampires and werewolves exist, but are extremely rare, Bobby Sandar, his wife, Olivia, and their two oldest children are were-leopards. Bobby and Olivia are Secret Service agents. Following Bobby’s death, Olivia feels the need for a fresh start. She takes a job as a detective in the sheriff’s department of a rural western county. Olivia’s first assignment is to go undercover as an exotic dancer in a nightclub run by gangsters. She has to battle mobbed-up criminals, a terrorist leader who is aware of Olivia’s history and abilities, and human traffickers to save her family and herself.

About the Author:  Stephen Tillman is an Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Wilkes University, where he taught for forty-two years, and holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Brown University.  As most scholars of mathematics, Stephen has always dreamed of writing a novel.  Although he started writing fiction relatively late in life, he is still younger than the folk artist Grandma Moses when she began her artistic career.  Stephen is an avid reader of mysteries and science fiction and has published short stories in both genres.  Were-leopards are featured in the stories, Caged, Dust Pile, and Tammy.

My Thoughts - 3 out of 5 Unicorns - I liked it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover has a gorgeous leopard on it!

This is the author’s first book.  It is for adults only due to violence and content, and it does contain human trafficking of children, abuse of women and children, and rape.

I liked this book.  I’m not used to reading many male authors of shifter books.  Men tend to describe differently and tend to be more up front and blunt.  I liked the characters and the story.  It just seems choppy in some places and doesn’t seem to flow.  Each author is unique, and for me sometimes it takes a few books before you sync with the author’s style.

Olivia and her children are pretty kick butt with all they have dealt with and endure.  It was an action-packed book where you love when the bad guys get it.  It was interesting and kept my attention, but I’m used to shifter books having romance too.

I think if you want a unique shifter story with no romance and lots of bad guys that you will find something you like in this story!  I will keep my eye out to see what else this author comes up with because I’m open to reading more.
