Never Fade
The Darkest Minds #2
by Alexandra Bracken
Goodreads blurb: Ruby never asked for the abilities that almost
cost her her life. Now she must call upon them on a daily basis, leading
dangerous missions to bring down a corrupt government and breaking into the
minds of her enemies. Other kids in the Children’s League call Ruby “Leader”,
but she knows what she really is: a monster.
When Ruby is entrusted with an explosive secret, she must embark on her most dangerous mission yet: leaving the Children’s League behind. Crucial information about the disease that killed most of America’s children—and turned Ruby and the others who lived into feared and hated outcasts—has survived every attempt to destroy it. But the truth is only saved in one place: a flashdrive in the hands of Liam Stewart, the boy Ruby once believed was her future—and who now wouldn’t recognize her.
As Ruby sets out across a desperate, lawless country to find Liam—and answers about the catastrophe that has ripped both her life and America apart—she is torn between old friends and the promise she made to serve the League. Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?

My Thoughts - 5 out of
5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review
based on what intrigues me!! I bought the whole series in
paperback, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!
The
new cover is much better in my opinion.
It grabs my attention better.
This
is the 2nd book in the series, and it is a YA Dystopia. The kids are not treated well in this series…think
Hunger Games and Maze Runner series. I
also highly recommend reading the series in order to know the characters and
world more intensely.
This
series is a very compelling and page turning read. I get pulled in to it and must know what
happens. I definitely cry while reading
this series as both a parent and a teacher because it breaks my heart. I love Ruby’s fierce desire to protect
everyone, and how hard she works to not take others control away unless she
feels it is the only way to protect those she loves. She makes some new friends in Vida, Jude, and
Nico. Of course there are some rough
times with some not very nice people, but she did find a few angels who helped
along the way. She is torn between her old
friends and her new friends. This is
action packed, and I enjoyed reading this book.
I can’t wait to see what happens next, but I want them all to be safe.
I
highly recommend to any fans of Hunger Games and Maze Runner or Lord of the
Flies because that’s what this series feels like….you never know what will
happen next!
