Review @valeromance - A Taste of Honey by Catherine Vale

A Taste of Honey
by Catherine Vale

Goodreads blurb:  The beautiful and curvaceous Olivia Rose has always been a hopeless romantic. In fact, it's gotten her into trouble more times than she cares to remember - always falling in love with the wrong kind of men. So when she finds herself being rescued by a gorgeous stranger, she expects that it will be trouble as usual.

She has no idea just how much trouble she's about to get into...

Cody has a dark past that keeps his heart locked in a cage and not even the likes of Olivia is going to get near it. He has lived far away from society for many years - forced into hiding, a man of many secrets.

But when they find themselves running from the same enemy they must band together in order to survive. And when things heat up to the point of a complete meltdown, the question becomes - who's rescuing who?

Note To Readers: This is a standalone, full length novel. It is cliffhanger FREE!

About the Author:  Catherine Vale has been writing fiction for as long as she can remember, but it wasn’t until she wrote her very first paranormal romance story that she found herself hooked on the raw, edgy love affair of shifters, vampires and other dominant alpha males and the captivating women that love them.

Catherine Vale writes both contemporary and paranormal romance for readers who are willing to take a walk on the wild side of love.  Her stories always include powerful alpha males, smart and sassy heroines and a happily-ever-after (even if she often put her characters through hell to get there!)

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

The cover is awesome :)  I love it!!  It is the perfect combo of sexy and beast :)

I bought this book in January, and I decided to read it first because I could finish it quickly in one night when I started it in the evening as it is about 130 pages.  This is for adults because it does have some steamy sex scenes and violence.  It does have a nice balance where the steamy scenes do not overwhelm the story at all.  This is a complaint my mom has about some books especially when they are novellas or short stories.

Olivia has moments of strength mixed with self doubt due to lots of poor choices when it comes to dating.  Cody has an amazing strength considering all he has been through which is a lot, but I’m not going to ruin the story for you by giving any details.  You will need to read it.  This book is packed with fleeing, fighting, and so much more.

It did not take me long to get sucked into Catherine’s story, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.  I was definitely over much too quickly.  Catherine’s style and descriptions were easy for me to get into, and it kept my attention the whole way.  I can’t wait to read more of Catherine’s stories in the future.

I recommend this story to my bear lovin’ friends who want a complete story with no cliffhangers :)
