Review @katiemacalister - Memoirs of a Dragon Hunter by Katie MacAlister (Dragon Hunter #1)

Memoirs of a Dragon Hunter
Dragon Hunter #1
by Katie MacAlister

Goodreads blurb:  Dragon Hunter Wanted: Sword supplied. No experience necessary.
One moment, I was a normal (if somewhat germaphobic) math teacher getting ready for summer vacation. Then my sister died in a pile of black ash, leaving me with a sword... and her destiny as dragon hunter. It turns out there's a whole other world out there filled with demons, dragons, and spirits. Now my job is to protect mortals - and I haven't got a clue what I'm doing.

Then there's tattooed hotness Ian Iskander. Part dragon hunter and part demon, Ian's got some seriously creepy business associates and keeps trying to steal my sword. So why do we keep getting lost in hungry, crazy-hot kisses? Ian is the only person who can help me figure out who - and what - I am. But trusting a half-demon is dangerous... because when you play with dragon fire, someone always gets burned.

About the Author:  For as long as she can remember, Katie MacAlister has loved reading. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. Despite her love for novels, she didn't think of writing them until she was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software. Since her editor refused to allow her to include either witty dialogue or love scenes in the software book, Katie swiftly resolved to switch to fiction, where she could indulge in world building, tormenting characters, and falling madly in love with all her heroes.

Two years after she started writing novels, Katie sold her first romance, Noble Intentions. More than thirty books followed during the years after Noble's publication. Her novels have been translated into numerous languages, been recorded as audiobooks, received several awards, and placed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. She also writes for the young adult audience as Katie Maxwell, and for the mystery world as Kate Marsh.

Katie lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dogs, and can often be found lurking around online.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover is steamy!!

This is the first book in this series, and it is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content.  This is my first time read Katie’s work.

This was an interesting read.  It started off confusing for me because I didn’t understand Veronica.   Veronica (Ronnie) has OCD and is a germaphobe.   This makes for usually humor and interesting steamy content.  Ronnie and Ian work together as a couple and team.  There are several mysteries that Ronnie is trying to figure out.  Ian kicks butt and is very tolerant of Ronnie’s idiosyncrasies.  I like when author’s create unique individuals and bring real life problems to the characters.  I like watching Ronnie’s evolution into being a kick butt woman who always does the right thing.  Her integrity and spirit is beautiful and meshes with Ian.  Katie surprised me a time or two in this book which is always refreshing.

I recommend to paranormal fans who love interesting worlds filled with paranormals and those who love uniquely challenged characters who shine in the book!  I can’t wait to read more of Katie’s books!
