Review - Tempted by Blood by Jacqueline Sweet (Penrose Magical Academy Short Story)

Tempted by Blood
Penrose Magical Academy
Short Story
by Jacqueline Sweet

Goodreads blurb:  If the boy you love won’t kiss you, his evil vampire twin sure will.
Natasha “Nat” Ramirez thinks the worst problems in her life are her middling grades at the Penrose Academy magic school, and the fact that the boy she loves won’t kiss her. But when her late grandmother leaves her a cursed mirror, a whole new world of trouble is revealed.

Tempted by Blood is a short story of magic mirrors, vampire romance, and dark prophecies.

About the Author:  Jacqueline Sweet writes about supernatural sex workers, dominatrix werewolves, and succubi with shoe fetishes. She loves the place where fantasy and romance and kink collide.

Jackie is currently working on a novel about a dominatrix torn between a werewolf pack and a succubus, titled "Making Magic," it's due out this summer.

My Thoughts - 3 out of 5 Unicorns - I liked it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  I bought this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

After reading Tutoring the Wolf, I looked for more Penrose books, and I found I’ve owned this short story since 2014.  It is for adults only due to the steamy content and blood.  It is very short only around 30 pages.

It is interesting, but it is not the complex story I was hoping for.  It is interesting, but you really don’t learn all that much about Nat and Dax except there is drama over a kiss and an cursed mirror that causes a lot of trouble.  I don’t want to give anything anyway.  I enjoyed it, but I hoped for more.  I love the world of Penrose from book 1, and this fell short for me.  I hope there is more novel length books in the Penrose series because I want to read those and many other books by Jacqueline as well!

Interested in reading???
