Review @donna_grant - Dark Alpha's Awakening by Donna Grant (Reaper #7)

Dark Alpha's Awakening
Reaper #7
by Donna Grant

Goodreads blurb:  There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I’m coming for you…

Serving Death and the Reapers has been my life for centuries. I’ve always put my duty before everything, even my yearning for Death. But now, she’s fading – our foe is bent on destroying her and he will stop at nothing until he does. Death holds the key to our survival. I will do everything in my power to stop her from disappearing. For her, I will ensure we have the best fighting chance. For her…I will cross the divide keeping us apart.

This is a full-length Reaper novel.

About the Author:  Donna Grant is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the sizzling Dark King series featuring dragons, immortal Highlanders, and the Fae.

She was born and raised in Texas but loves to travel. Her adventures have taken her throughout the United States as well as to Jamaica, Mexico, and Scotland. Growing up on the Texas/Louisiana border, Donna’s Cajun side of the family taught her the “spicy” side of life while her Texas roots gave her two-steppin’ and bareback riding.

Despite deadlines and voracious reading, Donna still manages to keep up with her two children, three cats, and a dog.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I think I want to collect this series in paperback in the future!

This is the 7th book in the Reaper series, and I’d recommend reading them in order because otherwise you are missing events.  And because this is a spin-off from the Dark Kings, I’d read both series in the order written because there are references to things that happen in both series.  You can read them just fine not in order, but you’ll get more if you read them all and your invested in the world and characters.

This is Death and Cael’s love story with a conclusion to the Death and Bran issues.  I was pulled into the story and didn’t want to put it down, but I do love all the Reapers.  There were no Kings in this book, but you still have Rhi, Balladyn, and more from the previous books, and a baby!  So much going on in this book, but you should be aware there is some torture.  I don’t want to give anything away though.  This world is complex and intense with drama, treachery, fighting, and romance.  I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I highly recommend to any paranormal fans who love mixed worlds filled with magic, fae (both light and dark), reapers, Death, love, betrayal, loyalty, and so much more!  I really love Donna’s books!
