Review @Pendarielraye - Torin by Dariel Raye (Dark Sentinels #2)

Dark Sentinels #2
by Dariel Raye

Goodreads blurb:  When greedy land developers set their sights on Dark Sentinel land, Torin turns to attorney Stephanie Bates for help, but she’ll need his protection to stay alive long enough to save his land.

Real estate lawyer, Stephanie Bates, has risen to the top of her field through meticulous sacrifice and goal setting. She has no time for distractions – and that includes pets, messy relationships, and loose ends.

Torin DuMont is a forensic scientist who chose the profession to avoid dealing with people as much as possible. Raised by a stepfather who hated him, he’s been forced to live a life of solitude, fueled by anger and distrust. When wolves and shifters start turning up dead, Torin must battle an enemy bent on destroying those he was born to protect. His greatest challenge, however, is Attorney Bates and the surprising effect she has on his heart.

About the Author:  Dariel loves books, animals, and all things paranormal. The paranormal romance, “Raven’s Shelter,” one of five stories in Taming of the Wolf, was her second publication, and her first with The Wild Rose Press as a result of placing second in their “Got Wolf” competition - prompted the new “Dark Sentinels” series. Dariel has written articles for The News Item of Mobile, and Black Health Magazine of Atlanta. A classically trained pianist and vocalist with a degree in piano and vocal performance and a master’s in counseling psychology, she completed studies for a Ph.D. with the exception of her dissertation.

***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review

The cover is cool and definitely grabs my attention to look at it :)

This is book 2 in the Dark Sentinels series.  I highly recommend reading the series in order because it does have the characters from book 1 in this book, and you will understand what is going on and the dynamics much better :)  This is for adults only due to the very steamy content.

If you read my review from book 1, I was upset because it just ended, and I wasn’t sure whether the characters would be heard from again or what the plan was.  Well, I was ecstatic when they came back in this book, and I know what is going on with them.  This book has action, attitude, and treachery for several angles.  You learn more about the world, but I also have a few new questions thanks to Akila’s part in this series.  Akila and Sable were in this book, and you get the closure and plan that was missing from book 1 which just made everything awesome.  In this book, the focus was Torin, his pack, and Stephanie.  Stephanie is a firecracker in some aspects, but she has moments of …not weakness but she just loses it…not that I blame her.  Torin is gruff and tends to be rude, but I don’t think he means it….it is like he doesn’t know what to do around Stephanie….like awkwardness which makes it kind of cute.  There is plenty of action, and it kept me enthralled in the story when I wasn’t busy with mom stuff with my son :)  I can’t wait to read the next book!!!

I highly recommend this series to my shifter lovin’ friends because this is a fab series with plenty to keep you entertained :)

See my review of Sable (Book 1)!!
