Review @ZoeChantebooks - Firefighter Griffin by Zoe Chant (Fire & Rescue Shifters #3)

Firefighter Griffin
Fire & Rescue Shifters #3
by Zoe Chant

Goodreads blurb:  A curvy single mom burned by love + a unique half-eagle, half-lion shifter firefighter with a wounded soul + the little boy who brings them together = one heart-warming romance!

Single mom Hayley Parker has always had to face every parenting challenge on her own — but when her five-year-old son unexpectedly turns into a lion cub, she finds herself with more than she can handle. With her little boy stuck up a tree and yowling for help, the only thing she can think to do is call the fire department…

Ex-firefighter Griffin MacCormick has the heart of a lion and the eyes of an eagle — literally. As a unique shifter with two inner animals, his battling beasts are slowly tearing his body and soul apart. Forced to retire from the elite all-shifter Alpha Team by his degenerative condition, he struggles to be content working as a dispatcher… until one day he takes a call that will change his life.

When Griff meets Hayley, both his lion and his eagle instantly recognise her as their one true mate. But how can he ask Hayley to risk her heart on a dying man, when she’s already been abandoned once in the past? And when Hayley’s arrogant lion shifter ex unexpectedly reappears on the scene with a horrifying demand, how can Griff protect his mate and her cub?

This is a sizzling hot, standalone BBW lion/eagle shifter full-length novel. No cliffhangers!

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

This cover is another attention grabber and of course I bought it.

This is the 3rd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.  While you do not have to read all the books in order, you will be missing out if you don’t read them all and in order.  You will quickly fall for the whole team!

I really loved this book!  Griff is an amazing character who is easy to fall in love with, but I’ve had no trouble doing that with the whole squad.  Every story is packed and grabs your attention and doesn’t let go.  I couldn’t put the book down.  I admire Hayley and think her son Danny are the perfect duo for Griff.  You will not be disappointed with this HEA.  I can’t wait to see whose story is next!

Zoe Chant has slid into my favorites list with her witty stories that pull me right into the story and have me gripped in the characters’ lives and lovin’ each and every one of them.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series to all the shifter fans who want to read about the mythic shifters who are a band of sexy firemen who will set your hearts on fire with their stories.

Review @AuthorCFeehan - Wild Fire by Christine Feehan (Leopard People #4)

Wild Fire
Leopard People #4
by Christine Feehan

Blurb:  Leopard shifter Connor Vega carries the scent of a wild animal in its prime, and bears the soul-crushing sins of past betrayals. Isabeau Chandler's never forgiven him-or forgotten him. The mating urge is still with her, and hotter than ever. Dangerously hot...

About the Author:  Christine Feehan is a #1 New York Times bestselling author multiple times over with her portfolio including over 50 published novels, including five series; Dark Series, Ghostwalker Series, Leopard Series, Drake Sisters Series, & the Sisters of the Heart Series. All five series hit the #1 spot on the New York Times bestselling list as well. Her debut novel Dark Prince received 3 of the 9 Paranormal Excellence Awards in Romantic Literature (PEARL) in 1999. Since then she has been published by various publishing houses including Leisure Books, Pocket Books, and currently is writing for Berkley/Jove. She also has earned 7 more PEARL awards since Dark Prince.

IN HER WORDS:
I've been a writer all of my life -- it is who I am. I write for myself and always have. The ability to create pictures and emotions with words is such a miracle to me. I read everything; I mean everything! All kinds of books, even encyclopedias. I am fascinated by the written word and I love storytellers. It is a great privilege to be counted one myself.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

I own this book in paperback, and it is the 4th book in the series and a full novel. This is for adults only due to the steamy content.  I should for warn you that there is one scene that is like torture, and if you are sensitive to this type of scene, I just want you to be aware.

This is another action packed book with all the dangers of South America and shifters.  If you hadn’t guessed I’m working on reading this whole series.  I’ve previously read a few, but never reviewed them.  I love the steamy scenes in the rainforest, but I really love that there is plenty of action and intrigue to go with the scenes.  I didn’t want to put the book down.  I really like Conner, and I understand the trouble Isabeau had with his work and why she is conflicted at the start.

Christine Feehan always weaves a wonderful tale especially where paranormal and romance come together.  I can’t wait to see whose story is next though I hope to see my favorites again and maybe find out what happens with Mateo and his kitten.

I highly recommend this to all the fans of Feehan and especially to those who love big cats and shifters!

Review @AuthorCFeehan - Burning Wild by Christine Feehan (Leopard People #3)

Burning Wild
Leopard People #3
by Christine Feehan

Blurb:  The #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Dark Carpathian novels now returns to the exotic, sensual and dangerous world of her bestseller Wild Rain.

This time, what goes on between male and female is wilder than animal instinct-and twice as hot.

Born into a world of twisted monsters, Jake Bannaconni is shaped and molded into a cold, revenge driven man. Honed in the fires of hell, he controls his world and rules with an iron hand. He has everything and anything money can buy. He’s ruthless, merciless and considered a man to leave alone. His hidden legacy, that of a shapeshifter, makes him doubly dangerous in the corporate world.

Emma Reynolds is a woman who knows how to love and love well. When their two worlds collide, Jake’s plans for a complete take over, may just come tumbling down.

I own this book in paperback, and it is the 3rd book in the series and a full novel. This is for adults only due to the steamy content.

This book has a lot of tough content because the main character is physically abused his entire life.  It takes special people who rescue children of abuse to get through to them, so imagine a child who is not saved as an adult.  Things happen in this book that are not pretty, but life isn’t usually pretty.  He makes a life for himself and protects.  I’ve seen some pretty nasty reviews because readers didn’t like the topics in this book.

Emma is an amazingly strong woman, and you will have to read the book to see why.  I do not like giving away what happens in a book.  There is a lot of emotional damage and baggage in this book that is worked through.

If you loved the other books in this series, you will not want to miss this story.  Jake has a special place in my heart because I’ve seen kids who have gone through similar trauma.  They make mistakes, but you still love them.

Wild Rain
Leopard People #2
by Christine Feehan

Blurb:  What has she done?  With a new identity, a staged death, and a chance to flee the treachery that stalks her, Rachael has escaped from a faceless assassin.  Now, thousands of miles from home, under the lush canopy of the rain forest, she’s found sanctuary.

Where can she hide?  In this world teeming with unusual creatures walks the most exotic of them all.  His name is Rio.  A native of the forest imbued with a fierce prowess, he is something to be desired.  Possessed of secrets of his own, he is something to be feared.

Whom can she trust? But as Rachael’s past looms as oppressively as the heat of the forest, and as Rio unleashes the secret animal instincts that course through his blood, Rachael fears that her isolated haven has become an inescapable hell…

I own this book in paperback, and it is the 2nd book in the series and a full novel. This is for adults only due to the steamy content.

I loved Rio and Rachael’s story.  It was full of action and twists and turns.  I especially loved Fritz and Franz.  Rachael is full of spirit and stands for what she believes in.  They both have a past that they aren’t really interested in sharing.  Rio has more heart and character than he sees in himself.  They are both an awesome pair of leads.  I couldn’t put the book down.

Christine Feehan weaves a great tale.  I have loved most of the books I’ve read of hers.  This is probably my second time reading the book.  I haven’t read it in a while and never reviewed it before.  I’m going to read them all!

I highly recommend this book to all the shifter lovers especially if you already love Christine Feehan and big cats!

Review @PaigeTyler - Wolf Unleashed by Paige Tyler (SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #5)

Wolf Unleashed
SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #5
by Paige Tyler

Goodreads blurb:  Wolf shifter Alex Trevino has fallen hard for veterinarian Lacey Barton. Getting her to agree to a date is a lot of work—and winning her heart proves even harder.

Lacey can’t deny her crazy attraction to Alex, but she has no intention of letting herself fall for him. In her less than stellar experience, men don’t stick around.

When Lacey’s sister is kidnapped, it’s up to Alex to crack the case—and prove to Lacey that he isn’t going anywhere.

About the Author:  Paige is a USA Today Bestselling Author. She graduated from The
University of West Florida with a degree in education in 2000, but decided to pursue a full-time career as a writer in 2004. Since then, she’s written over fifty books in several genres, including paranormal,
contemporary, western, sci-fi and erotica. She loves writing about strong, sexy, alpha males and the feisty, independent women who fall for them. From verbal foreplay to sexual heat, her stories of romance, adventure, suspense, passion and true love will leave you breathlessly panting for more.

She and her very own military hero (also known as her husband) live on the beautiful Florida coast with their adorable fur baby (also known as their dog). Paige graduated with a degree in education, but decided to pursue her passion and write books about hunky alpha males and the kickbutt heroines who fall in love with them.

When not working on her latest book, Paige enjoys reading, jogging, P90X, Yoga, Pilates, going to the beach, watching NFL football, watching movies and hanging out with her husband (not necessarily in
that order!)

Some Fun Facts about Paige…

She loves anything and everything Disney related, and has pictures with every Disney character to prove it.

Her favorite Disney characters are Tigger, Pooh, Goofy and Tinkerbell.

She's addicted to dark chocolate, Pinterest and Sephora.

She'll tell you she's not exactly the outdoor type, but yet she loves the beach.

She studied ballet for twelve years.

She went to art school, and yes, figure drawing was her favorite class (probably because all the nude models were male!)

She collects Barbie Dolls, plush animals and Jim Shore Disney.

She's just as likely to have Rhianna, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO on her iPod as she is Billy Idol, Foreigner and Golden Earring (if you can dance to it, it's probably on there!)

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is a work of art!

This is the 5th book in the series, but the first one I’ve read.  I’m doing this backwards because I own all of the other books.  I’m definitely going to go back and read these maybe during Christmas break.  This book is for adults only due to the steamy scenes.

Lacey is a veterinarian who has trust issues with men.  Alex is definitely an Alpha, but he has a sweet side that shows often.  Lots of bad things happening around town drugs, dog fighting, and missing girls.  This book is action packed!  I loved every moment of reading it and can’t wait to read the rest of them.

Paige’s words bring the story to life in my mind as I’m reading.  I highly recommend if you love shifters and Alpha men who come to the rescue, then you definitely want to read this book and probably the whole series!

Review @Abbie_Roads - Hunt the Dawn by Abbie Roads (Fatal Dreams #2)

Hunt the Dawn
Fatal Dreams #2
by Abbie Roads

You can’t hide your secrets from Lathan Montgomery—he can read your darkest memories. And while his special abilities are invaluable in the FBI’s hunt for a serial killer, he has no way to avoid the pain that brings him. Until he is drawn to courageous, down-on-her-luck Evanee Brown and finds himself able to offer her something he’s never offered another human being: himself.

Dawns a unique and powerful love

Nightmares are nothing new to Evanee Brown. But once she meets Lathan, they plummet into the realm of the macabre. Murder victims are reaching from beyond the grave to give Evanee evidence that could help Lathan bring a terrifying killer to justice. Together, they could forge an indomitable partnership to thwart violence, abuse, and death—if they survive the forces that seek to tear them apart.

About the Author:
Seven Things about Abbie Roads:
1.  She loves Snicker Parfaits. Gotta start with what’s most important, right?
2. She writes dark emotional books featuring damaged characters, but always gives her hero and heroine a happy ending… after torturing them for three hundred pages.
3. By day she’s a mental health counselor known for her blunt, honest style of therapy. At night she burns up the keyboard. Well… Burn might be too strong a word. She at least sits with her hands poised over the keyboard, waiting for inspiration to strike. And when it does—the keyboard might get a little warm.
4.  She can’t stand it when people drive slowly in the passing lane. Just saying. That’s major annoying. Right?
5.  She loves taking pictures of things she thinks are pretty.
6.  She’s represented by Michelle Grajkowski of 3 Seas Literary.
7.  Her first book will be out October 2016 through Sourcebooks.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is mysterious and haunting all at the same time intriguing you into picking up the book!  I won a copy of this book in paperback, but I loved the book so much that I bought the ebook too to support the author.

This is the 2nd book in the series.  It is for adults only due to the graphic scenes as well as the steamy scenes.

Abbie has quickly found her way onto my favorites list for go to author’s for awesome reads.  I can’t even put into words all the emotions and the depths each book goes into with layer upon layer of mysteries and plot.  She has paranormal with murder mystery suspense, romance mixed with myth, and so much more.

This is Lathan’s story, and you are briefly introduced to him in the first book.  I recommend reading both books in order because it definitely enriches reading book 2.  Evanee and Lathan both have major stories all by themselves.  This book was just as surprising as book 1 was with the twists and turns along the way which I wasn’t able to predict which is always a lovely surprise.  I don’t want to give anything away, so you just have to read it and see for yourself.

I highly recommend this book and series to adults who love murder mysteries mixed with paranormal elements, myths, and romance!  This book has it all!  Don’t miss reading it!

This is the first story in the series, and it is the only one that is a novella.  It introduces the Leopard people, and some of the troubles they have.  This is Maggie and Brandt’s story of her awakening.
