A captivating debut about the fragility of life, love, and perspective.
When Chase dies tragically, Alex embraces her own mortality. What she didn’t expect was that she’d have to make a choice: forget the years of pain and suffering once and for all, or linger as a spirit and get another chance at life and love.
Alex doesn’t hesitate to choose; she’d follow Chase anywhere. But the spirit world is nothing like she expected, and Alex finds she's forced to fight for her life once more. For even in a world where secrets are buried much deeper than six feet under, a legacy can continue to haunt you—and in a place this dangerous, no one is resting in peace.

Praefatio-Cover
Seventeen-year-old Grace Ann Miller is no ordinary runaway...
After having been missing for weeks, Grace is found on the estate of international rock star Gavin Vault, half-dressed and yelling for help. Over the course of twenty-four hours Grace holds an entire police force captive with incredulous tales of angels, demons, and war; intent on saving Gavin from lockup and her family from worry over her safety.
Authorities believe that Grace is ill, suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, the victim of assault and a severely fractured mind. Undeterred, Grace reveals the secret existence of dark angels on earth, an ancient prophecy and a wretched curse steeped in Biblical myth. Grace’s claims set into motion an ages-old war, resulting in blood, death and the loss of everything that matters. But are these the delusions of an immensely sick girl, or could Grace’s story actually be true?
Praefatio is Grace’s account of weeks on the run, falling in love and losing everything but her faith. When it’s sister against brother, light versus darkness, corrupt police officers, eager doctors and accusing journalists, against one girl with nothing but her word as proof: who do you believe?

WHAT READER’S ARE SAYING:

“With Praefatio, Georgia McBride proves that you can take any genre to a higher level. This is teen fantasy at its most entertaining, most heartbreaking, most compelling. Highly recommended.”Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author.

“This story kicks ass. No joke, all nepotism aside, I'm an angel convert after having read Praefatio. This proves my theory, by the way, that if a story is written well it can reach across the aisle and grab even the most cynical or perhaps reluctant reader.”
Caroline – Author

“An intense, but powerful young adult fantasy that you utterly become immersed in from the moment you start reading it.”
– Grace – Books of Love

The feeling of surfacing from her favourite pond washed over her. Voices murmured from all around.
“But there’ll be no one there to support her.” That sounded like her mum. The image of her mother crept into her vision and faded out as another voice encroached.
“We’ll request a guard from another pack to look out for her while she’s in school.” She could hear someone crying, masculine murmurs trying to comfort. She looked around her, trying to find who spoke. A forest materialised off to her left. The voices petered out as she shuffled forward. There was a feeling of peace as she entered the space, familiar, homely. She disappeared into the maw of stolen light. Emerging from the forest, with no memory of entering, whispers wove through the air, hushed and urgent.
“But what about her cat?” That sounded like her father.
“There’s no sign of it…” The onyx void wrapped around her again. Alone in the dark mist, tapping sounds surrounded her, clicking, clacking, pause. Clicking, clacking, tack, tack, tack, pause. Like plastic keys…
An explosion sounded in her head, bringing her back from an abyss she didn’t recall. Loud voices arguing made her surface, to listen. She knew the voices. They were important to her.
“You can’t do this! You can’t keep me away from her,” a familiar male hollered.
“But we can do this, Rebel, she’s our daughter and she’s suffered enough already. Can you guarantee she will stay sane if she remembers what happened to her out there? Can you?”
That was her dad. What the hell were they talking about?
“No, I can’t, but I can say honestly say I’ll stick by her through anything. She’s my mate. I’m in this for life, no matter what.”

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!
***Received the ebook for an honest review

The cover is beautiful, but I tend to be drawn in by animals :)

This is the second book in the series.  This is a YA series.  I definitely recommend reading the series in order, so you have the background on the characters and what is going on.

When I started reading, I will admit I was lost.  I’m not sure if you are supposed to feel the chaos that is happening or if I should have refreshed my memory where book one left off.  It definitely did not last long though.  Of course the characters from book one are part of this book.  Sometimes they were making smart decisions, and sometimes I wanted to slap them.

This is not a happy everything will turn out perfectly kind of world.  I’m not sure how I should word this so I do not ruin the adventure for the rest of you.  Things will not go the way you want, and you will be screaming no because something or several somethings happened that you didn’t want to.  Awesome story, but it ripped me in two at times especially where it ends.  This book is like perfect torture.  And I can’t wait to do it again because there is no way I can’t read book 3 now because I have to see what happens.

I recommend this series to readers who want a complex shifter world that is not a happily ever after where you will yell at the book either internally or verbally aloud as you read!!!

About the Author:
NatalieCrown
I grew up in a village called Swilland, in the countryside of Suffolk, England. There wasn’t much around, other than farms and fields, but for the most part I loved it, and I still do. I’m a passionate person by nature. I don’t just LIKE things, I LOVE things. Whether it’s a book, a film, or a sports team. Once I decide to enjoy something, I enjoy it to the MAX.

I’m a terrible cook. I prioritise essential social media work over keeping my flat tidy, because I know best.

Onto my love of reading and, consequently, writing – it was my dad that played a big role in encouraging me to read. He didn’t push me towards books necessarily; he simply read a lot himself. Then I would pick up his books and read them after him. I was reading high and epic fantasy from a very young age. I guess that might explain why I have always loved adventure stories with magic and intrigue and princes and princesses in.

I was aware that I wanted to ‘be a writer’ from a very young age. I was convinced I would be the first best seller that hadn’t reached double figures in age yet! I wrote about the Danshees, furry creatures that lived through a mirror. I wrote about a Sand Bottle that transported a boy into a world of magic. I wrote about a sick girl finding a music boy that healed her, but transported her back in time. (Wow, I always have loved alternate universes…)

When I was eight I wrote my first novel called The Land of No Return. Despite the title, I am determined to return to it one day. I feel like I owe it to my past self. So, as you can see, I have always been writing. There have been times when I have gone weeks without scratching down a word. Then there are days where I churn out multiple chapters and only my body’s silly desire for sleep and/or food can stop me.

I write because I enjoy it. I write fantasy because I enjoy it. I try my hardest to put something of myself into my writing. I like to think my characters have depth, I like to think that my fantasy worlds reflect upon the real world in some way. You guys will be the judge of that but even if you don’t agree I know that I at least try and I can do no more than that.

These days I live in North London and I love it. I work full time and London is a hectic city. Juggling work, writing and a social life is tough but nobody is forcing me to do it so I can’t complain. The dream is that writing will be my career one day but it doesn’t matter if I never quite make it. I love writing too much to ever pack it in.

I am desperate to get a dog. My mum suspects I miss my cats at home more than I miss her. I am a devout Arsenal/Ferrari/Rafael Nadal fan. I get all mad when confronted with a case of social injustice and then I get all mad when people take the fight for social justice too far. I mostly keep those thoughts to myself and simmer with rage. I watch good TV and bad TV, because I can. What I can’t do is enjoy bad books (subjective opinion of course). I just can’t.

The cover is stunning and beautiful!!  I’ve loved them all :)

This is the 3rd book in the trilogy.  They have all rocked!!  This is the 3rd sister’s story Willow.  She is amazingly strong and sweet.  Sebastian isn’t sure which way is up after he meets Willow.  Of course Willow’s whole awesome family is in the book too which I love.  Everything just magically fit together to make an awesome adventure and story….I couldn’t resist.  This is the conclusion of the series, and it does have a fabulous ending which I will tell you nothing about because you just have to read it :)

Lori’s creativity is just amazing.  I have had no problems connecting with her characters or the awesome world she has created :)  I guess I’m stuck on words beginning with A today…lol  I can’t wait to see what Lori cooks up next :)

I highly recommend this whole series to any paranormal fans who love magic, family, witches, and love because the mix just works :)

Audiobook Review @TerrySpear - Taming the Wild Highlander by Terry Spear (The Highlanders #4)

Taming the Wild Highlander
The Highlanders #4
by Terry Spear

Goodreads blurb:  Edana Chattan senses concerns where people she knows could be in danger. When her brothers warn her they're in trouble, she can't convince her father to listen to her, so with an escort, she tries to locate them.

Separated from her escort during a storm, she is discovered by Angus MacNeill, who is tasked to return her home. Only Edana has other notions - and convinces him and his companions to allow her to use her abilities to locate her brothers who are manacled in a dungeon somewhere. That leads to a faux marriage and more dungeons and more trouble than Angus had ever thought possible. So why is the bewitching, fiery-haired lass making him think of marrying her for real?

About the Author:  Love, love, love romance, the paranormal, hunky Highlanders with their delicious brogue and hot kilts, so Terry Spear writes about those hunky Highlanders both in medieval times and as wolves in contemporary times. Jaguar shifters too! And young adult urban fantasy. And romantic suspense.

She grew up reading mystery, adventure, mythologies from around the world, ghost stories, the paranormal, fell in love with Dracula and Wolfman, and felt they needed loving too. Everyone should have someone to love. Which means her stories always have a HEA.

The cover is beautiful, but Terry’s covers are always awesome :)  I’ll take one Highlander please :)

I got this quite a while ago, but I hadn’t had a chance to listen to it until I was stuck on a mower for 6 plus hours doing two overgrown fields on my property.  I am not one for historical romances, and I usually avoid them.  I should definitely know better when it comes to Terry Spear because she always makes it exciting, fun, and sexy.  This is the 4th book in this series, but the only one in this series that I have read (well listened to but same thing)!  This is for adults only due to the steamy content.

Edana is a loyal and feisty woman which I love because I want to love my main characters :)  Angus is the typical alpha male trying to be in control, but he folds like a table with Edana, and I love it!!  There is tons of action, twists and turns, and treachery to keep you entranced whether you are reading or listening.

The narrator was fantastic, and I especially loved that she spoke with the Scottish accent!!

I highly recommend Terry Spear as an amazing author no matter what genre she writes because I haven’t found anything she’s written that I didn’t totally enjoy.  I especially recommend trying this book even if you usually run away from historical books like I usually do.  Now I’m sad because I have run out of Terry audiobooks, I really need to put audiobooks in my budget!!

Review - Beauty And The Billionaire Bear by Sable Sylvan (The Shifter Princes #2)

Beauty
And
The Billionaire Bear
The Shifter Princes #2
by Sable Sylvan

Goodreads blurb:  When Rose Charleston's father steals a rose from a billionaire bear shifter, only the curvy human woman can save him from the wrath of the werebear. The handsome shifter calls himself "Beast" and demands payments for what Rose's father stole...and by having weekly dinners with Beast over the course of a month, Rose will earn her father's freedom.

It's just dinner: how hard could it be? Each Friday, they'll have dinner, together, and for the rest of the week, Rose will have free reign of the billionbear's mansion in upstate Montana...but there are secrets lurking behind every corner. What does the billionaire bear want with her, and why are her dreams haunted by the howls of something in the forest, gardens, and greenhouses outside her room?

Every dinner with Beast grows more intense, the tension between the pair growing, until they can't keep themselves apart any longer, events coming to a climax the night before Rose is sent back to her home. Will she finally learn the mysterious shifter's name, or will the only word left on her lips be, "Beast"?

If you love sassy BBWs and bear shifters are what you live for, sexy billionaires are what you dream of, and fated mates are your obsession, check out Beauty And The Billionaire Bear! This book is a standalone novella, part of The Shifter Princes, a series of remixed fairy tales.

About the Author:  My name is Sable Sylvan, and the only thing I love more than reading hot paranormal romances is writing down my fantasies and sharing them with readers like you. My heroes are strong alpha male shifters who can be grizzly and gruff at times...but when it comes to their mates, they turn into absolute teddy bears. The curvy heroines in my stories can be sassy at times but the bear shifter men who love them will do anything for their fated mates.

"Goldilocks And The Three Bear Shifters" is the first book in my "Bear-y Spicy Fairy Tales" series, set in fictional Port Jameson, Oregon. Each standalone books features a BBW and her bear shifter ménage, a happy ending (no cliffhangers!) complete with an epilogue and a sexy teaser. The books can be read alone and in any order and are all based on popular fairy tales.

If you love fairy tale romances but aren't super into ménages, check out my modern fairy tale series, "The Shifter Princes", a series in which sexy shifter billionaires woo the women they love, each standalone book featuring a modern twist on a classic fairy tale. Expect these books out by August 2015!

The cover is beautiful with both beasts and the gorgeous rose…simply perfect :)

This is the 2nd book in this series.  It is for adults only due to the steamy content.  This is a novella length HEA (Happily Ever After), and it is standalone.  You do not have to read book 1 though I highly recommend it :)

This is a great feel good story, but book 1 is still my favorite :)  Beast is a gruff and growly out of control bear man.  He definitely has some issues he is working through.  Rose is sweet and doesn’t have any experience out in the world because she takes care of her sisters and father.  This story definitely reminds you of Beauty and the Beast, but Sable has made it unique and added my favorite part….shifters.  I really enjoy all the fairy tale twist stories.

I recommend this to readers who love the fairy tale twists and especially with shifters :)

Review @WendySparrow - Crazy Over You by Wendy Sparrow (Taming the Pack #3)

Crazy Over You
Taming the Pack #3
by Wendy Sparrow

Goodreads blurb:  She's on the sheriff's most wanted list.

Waking up with a naked woman holding a knife at his throat is just about the last thing Sheriff Travis Flynn expected. And the brother she's looking for? A murderer. And dead. Probably. But the real shock comes when she insists she's not a Lycan.

LeAnn Wilcox isn't looking for love...especially not from some wolf in sheriff's clothing. She operates on the other side of the law. Once she finds her brother-alive-she'll get out of the pack's territory and go back to her regular, normal, non-furry life of changing jobs and her name whenever her past closes in.

The cool, logical Sheriff has finally met his match, but LeAnn's life is at stake if she won't claim her place in the pack, especially once his control over the pack is challenged and her brother's fate is questioned.

About the Author:  At home in the Pacific Northwest, Wendy Sparrow writes for both an adult and young adult crowd in many genres but always with a happily ever after. She has two wonderfully quirky kids, a supportive husband, and a perpetually messy house because she hates cleaning. She’s an advocate both online and in her community for autistic children in addition to actively trying to raise awareness about obsessive compulsive disorder. Most days she spends on Twitter procrastinating doing the dishes.

The cover is hot!!  The only thing that would have made it better was a wolf added to the cover :)

This is the 3rd book in the series :)  Somehow I missed book 2 coming out, so I’m going to have to get that in the future and read it :)  This is a full novel and is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content.  You do not have to, but I think if you read the series in order that it will be much more cohesive than doing what I did and skipping book 2.

I wasn’t sure what to think of LeAnn in the beginning, but she reminds me of someone who harshly judges themselves when she shouldn’t.  We all have bad habits, but she is not bad because of them.  Travis is definitely an Alpha, but in the beginning, I really thought he was a jerk for some of his thoughtlessness though unintentional, and he tends to be a control freak but what alpha isn’t.  He definitely redeemed himself.  Plenty of action, mystery, murder, and drama to keep your attention throughout :)

Wendy’s writing is detailed and easy to read.  She made a complex plot with lots of twists and turns and complex and unique characters to go with it.  I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

I recommend this series to book lovers who love wolf shifters and full length novels with lots going on :)
