Review #ShellyLaurenston - In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston (Honey Badgers Chronicles #2)

In a Badger Way
Honey Badgers Chronicles #2
by Shelly Laurenston

Goodreads blurb:  Petite, kind, brilliant, and young, Stevie is nothing like the usual women bodyguard Shen Li is interested in. Even more surprising, the youngest of the lethal, ball-busting, and beautiful MacKilligan sisters is terrified of bears. But she’s not terrified of pandas. She loves pandas.

Which means that whether Shen wants her to or not, she simply won’t stop cuddling him. He isn’t some stuffed Giant Panda, ya know! He is a Giant Panda shifter. He deserves respect and personal space. Something that little hybrid is completely ignoring.

But Stevie has a way of finding trouble. Like going undercover to take down a scientist experimenting on other shifters. For what, Shen doesn’t want to know, but they’d better find out. And fast. Stevie might be the least violent of the honey badger sisters, but she’s the most dangerous to Shen’s peace of mind. Because she has absolutely no idea how much trouble they’re in . . . or just how damn adorable she is.

About the Author Shelly:  Originally from Long Island, New York, Shelly Laurenston has resigned herself to West Coast living which involves healthy food, mostly sunny days, and lots of guys not wearing shirts when they really should be. Shelly Laurenston is also The New York Times Bestselling author G.A. Aiken, creator of the Dragon Kin series. My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I collect Shelley’s books in paperback, and I will own this in paperback too!

The cover is intense and focused…I love it!

This is the 2nd book in the Honey Badger series, and it is for adults only due to the violence of honey badgers and the steamy content.  You are also required to have an awesome sense of humor because Shelly’s sense of humor is epic, and I wouldn’t want you to miss it!

This is Shen and Stevie’s story, but her sisters and the triplets are back, and we mustn’t forget everyone else I love too that make appearances like Dutch, Blayne, Jess, Bo, lots of wilddogs, and Kyle and his brilliant family.  There is an evil scientist who is experimenting on hybrids, and Stevie feels obligated to take him down.  I couldn’t put this book down because there was always something happening and a lot of snarky humor that had me laughing so hard that people asked me what was so funny.  Max is psychotic and hilarious and gets into more trouble with the cat and bees.  I love how the sisters fight constantly, but they are always there for each other and will not put up with anyone messing with Stevie.  Stevie is an awesome hybrid and her and Shen make total sense.  I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Honey Badger Chronicles!!

I highly recommend to any shifter fans who love Shelly’s humor and violence when it comes to shifters!  She is one of my favorite authors and I always know I’m in for a great read with her shifter books!

Review @JessieDauthor - Winning Skyhunter by Jessie Donovan (Stonefire Dragons Universe #1)

Winning Skyhunter
Stonefire Dragons Universe #1
by Jessie Donovan

Goodreads blurb:  For more than a decade, Clan Skyhunter suffered under a cruel, power-hungry leader who did anything to advance his agenda. He was finally caught in an illegal scandal and sent to prison, and now the dragon-shifter clan in the south of England is ready for a new leader. And so the trials begin…

Asher King had been locked away under the former clan leader for speaking out against his cruelty. Now free, he wants to win the leadership and lead his clan to a better future. However, being the nephew of the old leader isn't easy, and if that wasn't enough to overcome, he's still recovering from the torture he endured while imprisoned. Still, he's determined to win and keep his clan from being disbanded by the humans, even if it means competing against his old teenage girlfriend and denying how much he still wants her.

Newly returned from her stay in America, Honoria Wakeham puts herself up as a candidate to be clan leader. Not everyone approves of a female candidate, but that doesn't faze her. The old clan leader killed her parents and in order to fully heal, she wants to bring the clan together and implement her plans to bring them into the twenty-first century. What she didn't count on was running into Asher King, the male she loved over a decade ago, before she'd been sent to stay with relatives in America for her safety.

It doesn't take long for Asher and Honoria to give in to their attraction, but from it springs an idea that may be the best of all. Can they win the leadership trials and keep their clan together? Or, will one of the other candidates win and try to keep Skyhunter in the past?

NOTE: Full-length story with a happy ending. While can be read as a standalone, cameos by characters from Stonefire Dragons and Lochguard Highland Dragons mean those who've read the other series will find it more enjoyable.

About the Author:  Jessie Donovan wrote her first story at age five, and after discovering the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey in junior high, realized that people actually wanted to read stories like those floating around inside her head. From there on out, she was determined to tap into her over-active imagination and write a book someday.

After living abroad for five years and earning degrees in Japanese, Anthropology, and Secondary Education, she buckled down and finally wrote her first full-length book. While that story will never see the light of day, it laid the world-building groundwork of what would become her debut paranormal romance, Blaze of Secrets.

Jessie loves to interact with readers. When not reading or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, can often be found on Facebook and Twitter.

The one thing you'll find in all of Jessie's stories are strong, capable women and the people who love them.

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I will eventually collect all of Jessie’s books when I can.

The cover is another amazing one!  I really love all the dragon covers!

This is the first book in a spin-off series called Stonefire Dragons Universe.  Obviously, it is in the fabulous dragon world we all know and love, and if you don’t know it yet…you should get to know it!  It is for adults only due to the steamy content with the randy dragons.  Though not required, you will love this more if you have read all the dragon books because they you know all their stories and the humor that comes with them and because they just rock!

Jessie is a fabulous story teller and her dragons are my favorites.  I love that we are getting more dragon clans to read and learn about.  In this story, it is Skyhunter Clan that we learn about, and they are currently going through the trials for a new leader after their last horrible leader.  I was pulled into Asher and Ria’s story from the start, and I loved every second reading it.  Asher and Ria have a great relationship where they both can be themselves which is sometimes being in charge and dominant and sometimes being ordered about.  They are both very honorable and want what is best for their clan and for it to be a home again.

I highly recommend to any dragon shifter fan because Jessie is the queen of amazing dragon shifter stories!  I recommend reading them all!  No one tells a story like Jessie does!

Review @ZoeChantebooks - The Red Dragon's Baby by Zoe Chant (Shifter Dads #1)

The Red Dragon's Baby
Shifter Dads #1
by Zoe Chant

Goodreads blurb:  She's vowed to give her baby a better life—all by herself.
Until she meets him.

Single mom Katie Miller has left everything behind. Unable to handle the idea of her six-month-old son being raised by her dangerous ex, she pulled up her life and escaped. Now she's alone with her baby, road tripping into the unknown with a little money and a lot of determination.

Dragon shifter Ronan Reinhardt escaped his own violent past years ago. Now, he lives deep in the woods, on the outskirts of a quiet shifter community, keeping himself to himself. Until Katie stumbles—literally—onto his doorstep. Ronan finds himself captivated, and drawn to protect her and her baby son.

Both Katie and Ronan are used to lives of desperation and struggle. Now, they're each experiencing a depth of love and comfort that they've never known. Can they learn to accept the love and safety a family brings? And when Katie's past catches up with her, can the sleepy little town come together and help Ronan defend his mate and baby?

The Red Dragon's Baby is a standalone book, full of passion, family, action, and adorable babies. No cliffhangers!

About the Author:  Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!

The cover is adorable because who doesn’t love seeing a shirtless man holding a cute baby!

This is the first in a new series.  It is for adults only due to the steamy content.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.  It made me happy to read about Katie who is a single mom.  Katie and her son endured being ignored and basically being held prisoner by her baby daddy.  She is freaked out that she was followed, and she just wants what is best for her son.  Ronan is trying to live a good life, but he thinks he is bad like this family and that he will corrupt the good town.  He doesn’t realize he is a part of the town, and he doesn’t even realize that Katie is his mate.  He wants to protect them and keep them safe.  Both are awesome characters with baggage, and they made it really easy to fall in love with their story.

I highly recommend to any shifter fans who love single moms and shifters who want them!  I can’t wait to see who gets the next story!

Review @AuthorCFeehan - Toxic Game by Christine Feehan (GhostWalkers #15)

Toxic Game
GhostWalkers #15
by Christine Feehan

Goodreads Blurb:  On a rescue mission in the heart of the Indonesian jungle, Dr. Draden Freeman and his GhostWalker team need to extract the wounded as quickly as possible—or risk spreading a deadly virus unleashed by a terrorist cell. When Draden gets infected, he forces his team to leave him behind. He won’t risk exposing anyone else. He intends to find the ones responsible and go out in a blaze of glory....

Shylah Cosmos’s mission is to track the virus and remain unseen. Her enhanced senses tell her that the gorgeous man eradicating the terrorists one by one is a GhostWalker—and his lethal precision takes her breath away. When he’s hit by a lucky shot, she can’t stop herself from stepping in, not knowing that by saving his life she’s exposed herself to the virus.

There’s no telling how much time Draden and Shylah have left. Racing to find a cure, they quickly realize that they’ve found their perfect partner just in time to lose everything. But even as the virus threatens to consume their bodies, they’ve never felt more alive.

About the Author:  Christine Feehan is a #1 New York Times bestselling author multiple times over with her portfolio including over 50 published novels, including five series; Dark Series, Ghostwalker Series, Leopard Series, Drake Sisters Series, & the Sisters of the Heart Series. All five series hit the #1 spot on the New York Times bestselling list as well. Her debut novel Dark Prince received 3 of the 9 Paranormal Excellence Awards in Romantic Literature (PEARL) in 1999. I've been a writer all of my life -- it is who I am. I write for myself and always have. The ability to create pictures and emotions with words is such a miracle to me. ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!  I don’t own this one yet, but I own most of the series in paperback.  I always get her books in paperback!

The cover is intriguing!

This is the 15th book in the GhostWalker series, and it is for adults only.  This is my first time reading this series, but I’ve loved all her other series.  My mom and grandma have raved about this series, but I never got around to reading it yet.  My mom and I have a large Feehan library, and I will eventually read the other books in this series because I’m hooked.  Reading in order is not required though I do suspect that it makes it that much better if you do.

This is Draden and Shylah’s story.  It was action packed.  Draden starts on a rescue mission, but he is infected with a deadly virus via a dart.  He leaves his team because he doesn’t want to risk any of them.  He decides he is going to take out as many of the bad guys as he can before he dies.  Shylah is observing Draden in all his killing glory and admires him and refuses to let him die, and now she is exposed.  This is their story of battling terrorists, the disease, and their attraction to each other.  It was excitement and nerve-wracking goodness in a book.  I love action-packed books with HEA romance.  They are superheroes with special powers with the genetic enhancements by a mad scientist.  The both have horrid experiences in their past that made me cry for their childhoods.  I love books that send me on an emotional train wreck.  I can’t wait to read more of this series because Feehan always does a fabulous job with storytelling, humor, and romance.

I highly recommend to any paranormal romance readers because their genetic makeup makes them super-powered and awesome!  Fabulous read!

Review @ZoeChantebooks - Dandelion Season by Zoe Chant (Green Valley Shifters #3)

Dandelion Season
Green Valley Shifters #3
by Zoe Chant

Goodreads blurb:  Tawny Summers has her retirement all planned out: catch up on her books, work on her garden, and teach piano lessons to children in the sleepy town of Green Valley.

Her plan doesn’t include a gorgeous city billionaire with piercing silver eyes who is determined to upend her quiet life and frighten her cats.

Lion shifter Damien Powell gave his family up for hopelessly broken decades ago. Now he finds himself drawn to a tiny country town to try to mend fences with his son and build a relationship with his precocious lion shifter grandson… and meets his mate at the worst party of his life.

Suddenly, he’s faced with book clubs and nosy neighbors instead of board rooms and lawsuits, and stubborn, set-in-her-ways Tawny refuses his gifts and challenges his expectations at every turn.

Can a city lion find a home with a country spinster? Can he convince her that it’s not too late for true love?

DANDELION SEASON is a heartwarming, hot, and humorous story of second chances and silver foxes… er… lions. If you’re looking for a sweet, steamy standalone with a guaranteed happy ever after and no cliffhangers, one-click today and fall in love with the tiny town of Green Valley.

The cover is peaceful and fun.

This is the 3rd book in the Green Valley Shifters series.  It is for adults only due to the steamy content involving mates.  I recommend reading all the stories in order because there are references made to the other characters and events that occurred in those books….not to mention this is the father of Shaun from the last book.

I loved this story because it still had Shaun and Trevor in it, and Trevor makes the story better with his shifting antics and vibrant way of life for a little boy!  Damien is a lion shifter and when he comes to visit his son in Green Valley, he meets his mate, Tawny who is the retiring mail carrier of Green Valley.  This story doesn’t have action as much as drama that comes with dating, shifters, and mates.  It was a feel good story that I enjoyed reading.  Trevor always makes this series come alive, and he didn’t disappoint in this story either.

I highly recommend to all Green Valley fans and shifter fans who love shifter communities and mates!
